They are not that close since they advanced Sengoku reference of Shinjiki for the filler. Normally it's in chapter 530 while this episode is about chapter 528.

Also, we did not see how Mr.3 escaped by himself from his cell. I was expecting it would be more clear in the anime, but here, it is as if he escape thanks to Buggy

Buggy DID give the keys to the prisoners, including Mr. 3.

well the anime is pretty close to the manga, so a little filler won't be that bad for it

they're not that close and in one piece, the fillers have sense and don't interrupt a fight. (not like Naruto or Bleach)

Hmm... I liked Share The World better, but perhaps I will grow to like this new opening theme better.

The episode was okay since it just set up this mini arc, but I look forward to the next episode containing a bit more plot-relevant material; majority of this episode seemed like filler (even for a promotional filler arc).

the song isn't that good, right, but the pictures they used (at least three of the colourspreads and one of franky with the lama) were great for an opening.
what followed then was again (like they always do) hell of a lot of spoiler, so I won't describe it, but anyone who doesn't like spoilers should skip the intro as it's giving pretty much away

the episode itself was o.k., nothing much nteresting, but a nice change and even nicer to know how shiki got out of ID

We learnt how Golden Lion escape from ID. I guess he cut of his legs to avoid the seastone radious and then he used his powers to get ouf of his cell and ID.

Episode was quite nice but not as good as the Impel down Arc xD The "Little East Blue" Town - idea is quite funny with the little dojo and the miniature Barati and I find it interesting on how important Nami already seems to be

The Opening was also cool (music is in contrast to Share the World somthing more for kids than older ones). The last scenes with Impel Down and the War Arc were just great and fatastic. The shadows while Luffy is running are cool and the falling scene at the end ... I love it.

way too slow, none of the visuals from the last minute really matched up..

its nice to see some of the current stuff animated but WOW. That opening blows hard. HAARD.

I'm not really a big fan of this opening. First 1.5 minutes was kinda meh (although it was nice seeing those color spreads used). Last 50 seconds had the events of the Impel Down arc, which of course, I will not spoil here. I assume that the anime staff assumes that all of its viewers read the manga so they don't mind placing the spoilers? They could have picked a better song, especially if part of the opening is going to be about Impel Down (this arc is only 4 episodes long and this opening will be used for a while).

It feels kinda awkward that a filler arc is being placed in the middle of canon (something I would expect of Naruto or Bleach, but One Piece?) I love the scene where Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, and Brook were drunk and basically ate all of the crew's stockpiled food. LOL.
This episode is based around a giant beetle named Boss, whom Luffy (of course) wants to make him part of the crew. Luffy, Usopp, Sanji, and Zoro try to attack the beetle but it flies off. They meet a girl with a navy coat (Yoko) and several villagers. After explaining the girl's relation with her marine father and the giant beetle, the islanders lead the group to a mini-version of their respective towns/houses. They dub it "Little East Blue." Usopp tells Nami, the only person left on the ship from East Blue, to go to their location. Meanwhile, another pirate crew wants to hunt Boss (seems he was Shiki's past).

Won't there ever be a good opening song again ? How it is possible I miss share the world already ! This childish music doesn't fill at all with the Impel Down and Marineford arcs, and we have it at least for 30 episodes given the spoilers.
Otherwise, I count 4 color spreads : chapters 327, 454, 537, 553

About the episode, it seems that monkey characters continue to be submarine specialists :-)

^The art was fine sometimes, I enjoyed some anime version of chapter front page and the spoilers. But overall : somewhat too childish, I'll definitely skip this part for the next episodes.

hmmm I finally saw the intro ...and I can agree........IT REALLY BLOWS..........and wtf....they were doing a picnic on top of a giant turtle......and they really made a giant leap on the spoilers ....but o well....the episode itself wasn't that bad.....I just hope we get back to the Impel down arc soon......

I take it you won't be watching the upcoming super awesome-looking movie, then? I wouldn't wanna miss it since it's the first one actually written by Oda. These episodes are most likely written by Oda as well since they lead into the movie, and I see no reason in not watching another story written by Oda.

All in all I liked the episode and the part with Shiki escaping. The opening sucked real bad though. I liked the animation and the fact they included some cover spreads in there, but the song ruins it all. Definitely the worst opening song yet..

4 episodes in total, the first one was todays, so mid december we'll probably be back in ID if they don't continue with fillers

This weeks episode had some really cool looking scenes (funny as well at times). LOL Luffy's expression when he finds out that the Boss Beetle breathes out fire LOL stars in his eyes while his face is all smoked haha!

I wish they will change the song after the 4 episode are over, but with all these spoiler scenes, I'm not sure it will come true.

Otherwise, is it possible to have a fish from South blue in grand line ?
