Personally, I think you should just give up and sob and wallow in your failure to retrieve all those lost contacts, but hey, what do I know? I never had that problem. :hee have you talked to the phone service provider or phone manufacturer?

Haven't used Otterbox, but I've heard of 'em. They're said to be tougher than your little bearcold heart.
No, it's not expensive to try.

Okay...

It can be time extensive though, and you don't know if it will even work. But at least I know why you needed contact info again. v.v

Huh? Yeah, because, like I said, my phone is dead. The card could be corrupted, I don't even know.

Why do I need to STFU?!
I can't imagine you using something as sophisticated as S IV...you need something hard and tough :hurr

I need to get stuff off of my old phone's SIM, but the reader I bought doesn't work for shit.
What other handset you were using before S IV? Your major concern is contacts and texts, correct?

Sophisticated as an S4? :huh I mean, it's great and all, but it isn't an antique chair :rofl

Hard and tough? That's what the Otterbox is for then, I guess :cookiehand

An old Nokia 2600. So old, at least 10 years old. But it did everything I really needed, so I never cared about having a smartphone. No point in upgrading to a newer version of the same rudimentary thing.

Yes, numbers mostly. It had onboard memory, surprisingly, so I'm not sure if texts were kept there or on the SIM. Basically anything I could retrieve from it would be nice.

S4 uses Micro-Sim and the previous version of the regular sims wont fit into S4. Or am I wrong here? Nokia 2600 had no PC connectivity, bluetooth, IR, or GPRS. Means, you cannot backup the contacts through a software. You have only sim card reader option available to you. I believe you already bought a sim card reader? What's the brands and what error it is giving to you?

Yeah, I'm aware of the different SIM formats and I know it wouldn't fit into my phone obviously.

The brand was a Sunpak 72-in-1 Card reader. It was the only one I could find that read SIM on top of most media card formats. It was a piece of crap really. The software would just freeze and crash whenever I would start to read the card. I tried a few other third-party programs and got nothing either.

Chuck it at your brother or someone. Release rage. :verily

Anyway, I don't think I'll upgrade my phone. I'm happy with my SGS3 so unless there's something much better or free better phone, I'll stick with S3 and save money.

Why would you upgrade before you're eligible for it? You have Verizon right?

AT&T and when the contract is up, I mean. That's when we upgrade.

Well, then why wouldn't you upgrade? Contracts are usually two years long and the tech advances so quickly these days.

But why waste money if I'm happy with my phone? Same reason you didn't upgrade, no? You were happy with yours.

Because many times the phones are free. The phone is only a little bit over a year old anyways, whatever.

The recent, newest top of the line phones like S4 are rarely ever free though, unless one upgrades few months after its release.

My point is, if you can afford it, and the phone is as well-received if not better, then there's no reason not to.

I cant think of anything else but a problematic product. If you followed the instructions correctly to operate it and it still didn't work, I guess there is something wrong with the product. There are some economical readers available on Amazon. You can try one of those. Its as far as I can help you.

True, but then there's also setting up the phoen to the way you want it, which can be a hassle. Installing apps and/or signing in to apps, gotta remember passwords, and the likes.

You're overstating how long that would take...

Considering I've gotten a new phone, and had to reset old and new phones more than once, I don't think I'm overstating anything. Easier for you because you have nothing, other than Instagram.

Also, you don't need 10 seconds on SnapChat to show one simple picture. My friend did that, and I SnapChatted him 10 secs of my crotch. Here's your only warning. :pwnge

Unless your pictures and etc aren't backed up somewhere, what is there to convert over, other than texts and contacts?

I see my pic made you mad...hue
