Really it's all an aesthetic choice for me at this point. Eula, a battery, a shield, and a tiny bit of healing. That gets the job done. Everything else is mainly aesthtic. Electro shielded enemies with that comp will suuuck though.

Yeah I wouldn't look forward to farming the Electro Hypostatis with that team at all lol. I switched back to my Hutao team with Xingqiu for that purpose.

Honestly, at the pace they seem to be going with only adding a new major region per year, not expecting Dendro to be added before 2022.

Yeah I wouldn't look forward to farming the Electro Hypostatis with that team at all lol. I switched back to my Hutao team with Xingqiu for that purpose.

Honestly, at the pace they seem to be going with only adding a new major region per year, not expecting Dendro to be added before 2022.

I sadly have to break out my least favorite character for those. Deluc. His character is boring as hell but he get the job done.

Two points where I'm moderately pleased with how they built this leveling grind.

Point 1: Amakano fruit grows in pairs and isn't a repeat of the miserable dandilion fluff fiasco (Eula was worth it but... my god)
Point 2: The new electro hypostasis thing is actually pretty fun to fight. I may feel differently about that after farming like 200 of these things but for now, I'm not miserable doing this.

I still think the total cost of leveling a unit should be like a quarter of this but so far it's less horrible than I feared.

Two points where I'm moderating pleased with how they built this leveling grind.

While it can't compare to farming something like Dandelion or Violetgrass, for me the issue is the regional material not being farmable before the character is released. They've locked new boss materials behind the new patch before, but with Inazuma and the Ayaka banner they started making it so you can't farm regional materials beforehand either. The boss stuff is less of an issue if you have Fragile Resin saved since it isn't timegated like the material respawns. Even with Kazuha the event map with the Islands had Sea Ganoderma there that was easily collectable 3 weeks before the Kazuha banner was released. It's timegating that doesn't need to exist, nor does it serve a purpose. You can't buy Amakuma fruit, so what's the purpose of it?

Yeah, it's less annoying than the Hydro version at least. Not remotely engaging, RNG can fuck you if you have no Bow user, takes forever etc.

Yeah, I mean, a lot about this game is artificially time gated. That's the "live service" part of it. They don't want people to ever be finished so they're intentionally dragging out the content with that sort of grind.

The fact that we couldn't access any most of the stuff we needed for her sucked extra but if I had to pick between that and the painful dandelion grinding where you have to do that every couple days for like a week or more and it took quite a while to hunt down each one on top of that. I'd pick this. Once we get to where they actually grow they're plentiful enough that one or two refreshes from now we'll have plenty of those.

The boss stuff wouldn't be so bad if we didn't need such a stupid amount of them. But that's my complaint about their whole leveling system honestly. I play a few of these types of games and Genshin is the worst in terms of level grind. You need so much of so many different items and currencies to make a single character usable that it's prohibitive of you being creative with your teams. And I really don't like that.

idk, there's still a reason to login every day, so I don't see this recent change serving any purpose really. It'd be different if you could just top up and buy Amakumo fruits or something, at least it'd make sense from a predatory f2p perspective

For all we know they might just do it because the leaks/dataminers are pissing them off, but then I'd say they're just being petty with unrealistic expectations.

I more believe that some marketing jackass somewhere was has a lot of buzzwords that could explain why it will increases user engagement by 3.74% in key demographics.

When in reality all that's doing is keeping us from doing all the things in the game we actually want to do. Like in my case fishing.

It's great and the fish claymore's design is glorious. Everything about this fishing game I love. There is nothing I enjoy more in RPGs than and a completely unnecessary fishing mini-game.

I'm not being sarcastic either. I unironically love those.

There is one thing about Baal I'm a little unclear on lorewise.

It's weird to me that they called her "Baal" in the promotional stuff. Because if I understand the story correctly she's not Baal in any sense. Her true hikkimori form is Ei. Baal is her sister who died a long time ago. Unless she named the puppet Baal? If that's the case though story never referred to her as that. And if you speak to her in your playerspace her name is labeled as Ei.

So I have no idea where the Baal name is coming from.

So the game never referring to her as Baal wasn't some weird thing because she didn't have a hidden identity like Venti or Zhongli in the end.

I guess it's just weird to me that it was never used a single time to refer to her in any way. Everybody refers to her as the Raiden Shogun. I think that's even what's listed on the screen when she's in your party. Yae calls her Ei but other than that it's Shogun all the way.

I think it's mostly because it's her Demon/God name. Mortals or the average person aren't calling Venti Barbatos or Zhongli Morax, because for all intents and purposes they're incognito. Raiden Shogun isn't and is the figurehead of her nation. It'd be like calling the Emperor of Japan by his given name I guess.

It is definitely awkward for the game though, since the player obviously knows everything about the characters. And don't even get me started on Childe/Tartaglia/Ajax...

I think the bit I can't get over is that it isn't actually her Demon/God name. That just takes it one step too far for me. Like my max was Zongli/Rex Lapis/Morax. They took it one step too far for me with this.

Actually I guess the analogy would be that Raiden Shogun is to Rex Lapis, as Beelzebul is to Morax. It's a title versus the demon name. The spoilers you mentioned would be kind of be akin to Zhongli, the difference being that the former is an actual name and not a contrivance used to live incognito. At least in Zhongli's case, Morax the demon name seemed to become sort of an insult to him. Obviously Raiden doesn't use hers for another reason, but still due to sensitivity I guess.

But yeah, it's kind of a mess. But when you think of it, beings that have existed for thousands of years would probably have way more names than just 3 or 4.

I'm chugging along with Baal, got her to 80. But I guess I forgot she needs the new weekly boss materials to get her talents about level 6 and I haven't even started the Archon quest yet...

Pulled Engulfing Lightning on pull 70, my non-guarantee pity is just dying to fizzle out at this point. The new weapon banner system REALLY is poised to crater my wallet.

Wasn't aware that it takes the handguards just like Baal either, those are already so scarce. I haven't been farming any of the Inazuma Weapon materials either.

Congrats on the pretty looking polearm. It is by far the coolest looking one in my opinion.

Very unfortunate about the handguards though. Something I wish they would implement into genshin are horde mode type deals where you can grind drops. Sort of like what Warframe does. Maybe not all the time but it would be such an awesome event where it's just endless waves of enemies which scale up in difficulty as well as drop chance.

It's kind of natural to accrue a shitload of the simple weapon/character materials just by doing anything, but it's obvious they reduced the droprate for the handguards specifically. The mobs are annoying to fight anyways, but sometimes the big ones don't even a drop anything at all.
