And yet a shitload is never enough. At least not for me. Though I admittedly don't play a ton.

Got her to 90 along with the weapon. Always feels weird switching away from Skyward Spine since you attack so much slower.

Talents still limited by weekly materials... guess I should do that Archon quest at some point this weekend :grumble

I got her to 90 but don't have a weapon for her yet. Mainly because of those electro fish you can only get in one place. Didn't realize they were that exclusive until yesterday and I'm not willing to go through the bother of joining other worlds to get more. So for now she's just got a placeholder weapon.

Most noticable thing out of the gate was how good she is with Eula. Mainly because Ei's elemental skill makes the superconduct thing just automatic. Every enemy has 40% Phys shred on them at all times and you barely have to do anything since that skills duration is so long. Combine that with the boost to burst damage and she's bringing a lot of damage support. I bet the same thing true for any cryo physical character. Like Rosaria.

I can't really tell how potent her damage will be since she's got a placeholder weapon but the best final stats I could manage with the gear I farmed are going to be.

40% Crit
100% Crit damage
250% ER (Will translate to 60% Electro damage from that.)

Attack I won't know about until I get her spear done but she's got attack sands and goblet with 30% more from random artifact substats.

No Favonius Lance or Prototype Starglitter? That is if you need an ER weapon. I've seen people use the more common damage options and it still seems to work well. I also read that The Catch becomes her best weapon if you pair her with an Atk buffer like Bennett.

Yeah, exploring without Fischl is annoying due to puzzles, but her Electro application is even better and less effect by Oz RNG, so it feels pretty good too use. The resolve mechanic is just built for any quickswap team, it's just that Eula is really the only excellent quickswap character that deals physical damage so far so it's a match made in heaven.

I just don't have lances built. She's got a level 40 Favonius Lance at the moment because that's the best of what I have laying around.

The character I previously used for super conduct was Kequing quick swapping, mainly because it's really nice to have her on the team when you've got to do any platforming or climbing. The ability to teleport is quite useful, even if the rest of her kit... isn't. So for me obviously a low maintenance off field option who is this reliable is a refreshing change.

Also, I'm pretty sure she'd do more damage than Kequing even if she were wielding a banana.

Keqing and Qiqi are probably in competition for the most useless 5 stars in the game. She's fun but Overload is just annoying to build a team around and she just pales in comparison to Beidou in an Electro-charged team comp. Some people swear by a physical build but it just seems like any build that requires you to not use your Burst so you don't lose DPS is just anti-fun and troll as shit to me.

Mihoyo still has this problem they haven't chosen to address where if a main damage dealer doesn't fit into the Melt/Vaporize box or isn't a Physical damage dealer they're not worth using. Either that or you have Childe in a Fireworks team where he's on-field to apply Hydro but Beidou is the main damage dealer with her Burst. You could probably do a national team or quickswap team with 4 supports and kill shit faster/easier than using someone like Keqing.

Yeah, they need to bit the bullet and boost the overall damage of electro effects and add multipliers or stat scaling. The only problem with that now though is that if they were to do that with electro suddenly Ei becomes the most powerful character in the game. Which, since it's non-pvp so who cares but it does need to be awknowledged that if they did she would be pretty absurd.

Sidenote, whoever decided to put the fishing spot for those purple fish right near the spawn of a bunch of cryo slimes and an electro mage with no ground anywhere to fight them on was a massive asshole.

Yeah honestly the fact that Beidou just doesn't work with Raiden is dumb. Idk how they didn't see this in beta testing when they were already quick to buff Zhongli when myself and many others felt like he didn't even need it.

Baal felt like razor during that test run... which isn't a bad thing but i have him c6; it feels redundant to get her.

Raiden is a burst support and enabler that has a lot of off-field use, while Razor doesn't do anything unless he's the one doing damage. They're not that comparable honestly. If I was going to compare her to another Electro unit it'd probably be Beidou.

How so?

They're not that comparable honestly.

I'm guessing that's true for most people, cause i don't see anyone saying otherwise, but-

To me, they're clones.

Who's better?

Beidou or baal (...i have beidou but never use her)

I'm not sure Baal even has any comparisons honestly. Like xi0 said Beidou is probably the most similar but she's so unique that even that isn't all that close.

The thing they have in common is that they're both sub DPS who can do a lot of damage off the field.

Beidou achieves this through her burst which you can activate then swap out so that your main DPS can benefit from that electro damage while they're fighting. Her Elemental skill is a defensive option in what is essentially a counter attack. Her big downside is that she doesn't generate much in the way of energy particles. So you need a battery character to make her work well.

Baal on the other hand is a sub DPS and battery in one. She does the same sort of off field damage Beidou does with her burst via her elemental skill which has insanely long uptime. The battery and damage part of her kit is her Burst ability. Which allows her to go on a rampage which restores energy for the whole team while she's doing it. The power of which scales with the total energy used by other team members.

This is the distinction between her and Beidou or Razor or any Electro character. She has no selfish abilities. Everything she does benefits the next character you swap to. And every time they use a burst, that she helped them get the energy for, she gets stronger. Additionally, she demands to be built for energy recharge. Which is another unique thing about her.

In Genshin it usually comes down to who's better for you rather than who is flat out better honestly. Meaning who do you have more fun playing, who is more accessible, who do you want to use with them, etc. As an Archon unit, Raiden is powerful but she isn't as versatile/useful as Venti or Zhongli. She has no crowd control or defensive abilities either, something that also breaks the trend Genshin was having with Archons.

I guess, the other thing that people should be aware of with her is that whenever you're using Baal on your team, after using her elemental skill, every member of that team gets this big circular energy gauge hovering behind them. So you if you don't like the way that looks, you're going to hate using Baal because that thing is always there.

The thing is kind of visual clutter but it's also pretty useful -

1. When the eye is open it indicates when her Skill is active and your character will get the damage bonus for their Bursts
2. The ring filling up is a display indicator for Raiden's resolve level

It's pretty but kind of inelegant though? I'm still not sure. Like sometimes it's not obvious how lit up it is to me, especially if there's mayhem on the screen or if you have Zhongli shield on or something like it

That's why people were/are bitching!

The whole battery thing is nice but... who's the power to go to?

I'm assuming Beidou was the best candidate but they apparently don't work together as most expected. I understand the anger now. :hee

That was a plus for me (still is :derp )

she looks fun but i don't think i'd have any use for her...

looking at that Beidou combo though. if they fixed it i'd want her, it seems like they'd be fun/hax together.

I'm also undecided. I think I like it. It is stylish after all and more subtle visual indicators like Eula's sash are completely impossible to see in combat. But I think I might wish they'd let it fade a little outside of combat.

I didn't realize that we needed ranged options for the Thunder Manifestation... So now I'm leveling up Yoimiya, fortunately the Pyro Hypostasis is ridiculously easy.

People are/were bitching because she's more niche and not as broken like Venti or Zhongli and because she has weird interactions that make no sense like the Beidou example, or the fact that she can't proc Skyward Spine's vacuum blade passive since for whatever reason her Ult only counts as Burst damage and not a normal attack as well.

She's not like a conventional battery you see in Genshin because her Burst itself charges other characters Bursts faster instead of only generating elemental particles. As an example, in a standard Beidou team you would usually use Fischl to generate electro particles for her since her Burst requires 80 Energy, she's bad at generating particles for herself, and typically you would want more damage-oriented stats on her artifacts and weapons in lieu of Energy Recharge. If Raiden didn't have this kind of anti-synergy where she can't proc Beidou's Burst while she's using her own Burst, she'd be a perfect and even superior replacement for Fischl. New 5 star characters, especially Archons, shouldn't have these weird idiosyncrasies where you can't use her with this other character or weapon that makes perfect sense otherwise. And it's especially scummy when you don't even clarify this in writing until the new banner is live and not beforehand.

Ranged might make it faster but I don't think it's like the Hydro version where it's basically a requirement tbh. It's just annoying running away from you at certain points.

I guess I need to remind myself that I have a Zhongli with 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith on my team, so I guess tanking all of the boss's nonsense until it stops running around like a 4 year old is a bit easier than usual lol
