The manga introduced a new island, known as God Valley.

Sengoku says it was wiped from the books of history.

He also adds it was involved to the taboos of the world, meaning the Poneglyph and the Ancient Weapon.

But we heard of that island before, it's the kingdom that Professor Clover talked about, which was wiped from history.

Professor Clover said the existence of the kingdom posed a threat to the world government, and while he wasn't sure why, they key to it was the name of the kingdom. The name is God Valley.

This is because this island poses a threat to the living gods of the world, the Celestian Dragons.

Someone normally would discover about the Poneglyph and the Ancient Weapon when they reach the island at end of the Log Pose. That island is God Valley.

Rocks reached God Valley, and he decided to find the Ancient Weapons to become King of the World. It was after the God Valley Incident that Roger, Whitebeard and the others went on their own journeys.

Shiki also said he and Roger would use the Ancient Weapon to rule the world. This is because he was a member of the Rocks Pirates, and is just following his former captain plan.

Nice summary there. And no connection that it might be Raftel and the end of Luffys journey after all?

I thought that was clear from the start given the context of Sengoku's story.

Roger and his crew have been stated to be the only folks to find Raftel and Roger straight up asked Whitebeard of he wanted to know where Raftel is.

If the Rocks had been to Raftel, there would be no reason for Roger and WB to have that conversation.

"Gods valley disappeared without a trace".

So roger did find it again and that made him the pirate king could still be a possibility. Maybe WB didnt want to find that place again, after what happened there.

I mean, if it was Raftel, I don't see why Sengoku wouldn't just say it rather than referring it to God Valley.

Plus, the marines and the Yonkou know where the island was. Both Big Mom and Kaido have Poneglyphs that have information that leads to Raftel. If they were there already, why would they need the Poneglyphs?

It just doesn't make a lot of sense for the two islands to be one and the same.

Same reason, why he didnt wanted WB to say that One Piece existed. To not inspire more pirates or marines, its a secret for a reason.

Also like i said, that the island vanished can be also literally. so BM and Kaidou maybe dont know the exact current location.

This could be but I like the theory of God valley island disappearing because of the violent fights vs the Rocks pirates.

If two admirals can permanently change an island weather then Rocks+ White beard+ Bigmom+ Young Kaido+ Roger+ Garp can certainly obliterate an island in a serious fight.

However I think that this is not the last we hear about God valley

Unless the World Government had a weapon that controls space and time, I find it unlikely.

The Poneglyphs to Raftel existed before the God Valley incident.

Or you know, maybe its on the back of Zunishas horde and can wander around. Its still not sure if it was destroyed, vanished or something else happened. for all we know it could even be Enels Moon thing.

The Zunisha thing is an interesting hypothetical. Especially if the WG is responsible for Zunisha's punishment.

Doubt Enel's weapon is involved. Don't see the current WG being aware of it.

I think it's safe to go with the simplest explanation right now. God Valley is a separate Island and was destroyed by an island destroying weapon we know is possible to exist in the series.

I believe God Valley is this place, of course we don't have enough information but I think those rock formations look similar.

Ihr müsst jetzt ein bisschen Deutsch lesen :D

English article is strangely worse even though this is in the US.

It has similarities to Monument Valley and the Navajo believe the stones contain the souls of their ancestors... Didn't we have this somewhere already? Yes, the Shandia believed that their souls go to trees... Stone Monoliths.. Trees... Very similar... ꩜

I think God Valley is the place where the Ds believed their souls go to. Why the Ds? Because I think D. is based on Dingir, they are the "Gods", while the CDs only claim to be them and also I can't connect the CDs in any form to the Navajo.

Could also be very wrong here of course since we don't have more than a silhouette of the island.

God Valley is Zou? But we have seen Zou, and we have seen God Valley, they don't look alike. :/

Does this panel implies the island still existed at the end? I think I can see some cliffs in the background.

My opinion is that God Valley isn't the Ancient Kingdom that we associate with those named D. I don't see the kings of the world destroying the citizens from this kingdom and erasing them from history but keeping their land, for what, to flex? What's the point of flexing if noone knows why?

And it's a dangerous game to play, which is why on the flip side I like the idea of this in theory. Because if it does turn out to be the case, it's likely the poneglyphs recorded its location and that's how Rocks went there and knew of its importance.

But this theory has holes, I'll leave it as that for now and see if anyone can point it out.

The Rocks would have been the first ones to reach God Valley at the end of the Log Pose. The World Government wasn't aware of it's presence before. Then after the incident, the island vanished... probably because the government erased it from the maps. They may have cleaned the island with the Buster Call, but something like the Poneglyph would remain.

Can't be, otherwise why would they need Poneglyphs to find it if they already found it?

Who? Roger or Sengoku? Roger had no problem with anyone knowing One Piece existed, given he himself started the Great Age of Piracy by saying he left all his treasures at one spot. Sengoku? He didn't want more people to become pirates for One Piece, and he didn't want pirates to be even more motivated.

How would it have vanished though? The only way to do that without moving it or using an invisibility cloak is by destroying it completely, like with a buster call. Could be how buster call was first created?

I agree, God Valley and the Ancient Kingdom are likely two different lands, although GV could have been part of AK. Plus, given what we know about the Void Century, and what we can assume, the kings probably wouldn't have batted an eye at killing the citizens completely but keeping the land and trying to make sure no one spots it or lands on it. But it also begs the question as to how GV got on the map in the first place if the kings wanted no one to know about it.

I've been reading this story for 20 years now.
I can tell you, Oda mixes all the stories of the world.

If you write a story, you carefully place hints about what is going to happen next. If you write a detective novel, you place hints about who the murderer is, you might place some dirty footsteps to hint at the gardener, or a broken bottle to hint at the buttler. What ever you do, it pays off in the end. Like you don't place countless hints in the novel saying it was the gardener, but then it turns out to be someone else in the end, that's bad writing.

Also, no single story in the world is truly original. Even my adventures of Bayer Bear and his friend, the Mole, which I invented when I was 1 years old, were not truly original, because of course I was already surrounded by stories featuring antromorphic animals, and my grandmother is from Bavaria, so there you go, Bayer Bear.
Look at the most successful (commercial wise) story right now, the MCU. Did they invent Thor? Heck they didn't even invent the Hulk, he is just a take on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Women brought sin to the world by consuming the Fruit of Knowledge... Or was it because Pandora opened the box? If I say the Japanese Enma is the same figure as Remus of Rome... That sounds crazy right? But it's true!

Even our real world history is more of a story than a recollection of facts. Like we might remember x as just and y as evil, simply because x was a winner and y a loser and it is all too far in the past to truly find out.

One Piece is no exception here. It just draws inspiration from so many people and stories around the world, that it is hard to unravel if you don't have an insane amount of common knowledge. But if you do, you will catch hints about what is happening next.

Do you really think there hasn't been a single hint on what the Void Century is? There are dozens actually, just cleverly concealed.
I am not joking when I say that I have a map to One Piece. Just found the hint Oda was referring to. If you are still in disbelief, find out what Laugh Tale is, relate it to a story and boom you are the Pirate King :)

Your life must be dull, just say you hate thinking and theorizing. If you want mindlessness, just read DBZ or HxH.

Lol I'd add Bleach to that list.

This is kind of insulting to Oda and that's fucked up. Oda uses so many real life examples in his work that it is impossible for us to not relate it to our own world. Weapons of mass destruction. The taboo of Transexuals. Uhh what else? Oh right, fucking awesome pics of food. Everyone can relate to that. Oda is doing this so we can relate. It isn't just another shonen story. One Piece is set apart from the rest for a reason.

It is true it is Oda's world and he will explain everything in due time but we as humans do this to every piece of work we are interested in. It is almost impossible to not want to predict what will happen next in (decent) movies. We go through school and they make us predict what will happen next in a boring story. But we naturally do that already for stories we love. It is one of the reason why we are fucking human. We wonder and then get awed.
