The last 3 weeks the author have been using key elements from the first part of the manga, when it comes about expressions and actions, while in past weeks this was a refreshing breeze, with Ch.492 it becomes an overdose.
Naruto and Kirabi finally meet, Hachibi and Kyuubi reunited. This is clearly a transition chapter as we see things setting up; Kisame still inside of Samaheda (or at least we believe so), Gai and Yamato were sent a Naruto's bodyguards, together with another Shinobi from Konoha.
This might clearly the preamble for another fight between Gai and Kisame, but it might be as well a way in which the author tells us that we might be able to see either a fight between Kisame vs Kirabi or Kisame vs Gai.
In such scenario, Gai could be used as guinea pig, just to show the amazing power that Kisame holds in a full fledge combat.
Kirabi has exceeded my expectations as secondary support character, as it is being well developed, As the "bravest" hero of Kumogakure, this is pretty much the path that Naruto is walking by himself, without the need of controlling Kyuubi's power.
The defenses of Kumogakure are pretty much equal to the defenses of Konoha, they a group of shinobi just like the one we got to see in Konoha, during pain's invasion, is this a reference about what is about to come?, maybe not, but this clearly give some solid base for those who believe that Kumogakure is going down. "Higher you fly, more painful the fall".
It seems that there's some kind of close relationship between Motoi and Kirabi, as he clearly was very intensive as he defend him, he saw something in Naruto that he sees in Kirabi, maybe due the path that both Shinobi are walking since they were kid, but I wonder how did it affect Kirabi being the brother of the Raikage, we know that Garaa was rejected by his own father, but Raikage seems to be the typical big brother that look after his little brother.
There's clearly not trust between Konoha and Kumogakure, and could blame Konoha for not trusting Kumo, after all it was Kumogakure who violated a peace treaty signed between both nations, when the high commander of Kumogakure tried to Kidnap little Hinata, as explained by Neji during the chunim exams.

Sending Yamato with naruto was a smart move from Konoha, as he can suppress Kyuubi's chakra to some degree and probably could suppress Hachibi's chakra as well, I don't know why Yamato warned Motoi, by telling that he was a Mokouton user, but for sure it have something to do with first Hokage kicking ass around Kumo.
A face off between Naruto and whatever came out of those falls, but actually than his true self, it might be totally the opposite, hopefully this training with end soon, allowing us to see the next step that Kirabi did to control Hachibi.

Overall this chapter was not bad at all, but neither something that I would call a good transition chapter, as the author overused key elements like: Expressions, dialogs, techniques from the first season of the manga, in this chapter in particular. Clearly this chapter doesn't do the job of the leaving us eager of what's coming next as outcome this chapter, this a clear mistake that shouldn't be repeated before the golden week.
Now that I shared my thoughts, on this chapter the best way to express how this in particular left me like this:
