So with one of the databooks we got that dolor's magic was called ground or something rather than creation. Obviously that is a very weird development considering all giants are supposed to have the same magic. Even in the manga dolor's powers seem identical to that of other giants as well. So... do you think there is any difference here? Or does he just decide to call his magic a different name arbitrarily? Or perhaps this was a mistake in the databook. Or maybe due to dolor's innate unique traits given that he is born with extra arms, blue skin and weird eye powers his earth control magic has subtle differences with that of other giants?

Any thoughts?

Easiest explanation?

It's a stronger variant of creation he developed due to being some kind of mutated giant(four arms, green skin, abnormal size).

That sounds rather arbitrary to me. Creation is not a magic which is "developed" to begin with, in principle it is innate to giants. Which would, or should, mean that if dolor has a different type of it he was born with it. Presumably related to him having extra limbs and different skin color however his extra arms and skin being the cause of his different magic is a weird development.

Maybe the "Giga" techniques are what make the difference or it's something you can reach only when you master the dance perfectly or something.

?

I'll try again.

Dolor is clearly some kind of mutated giant. That was born genetically different from every other giant.

This gave him a larger size, green skin, and four arms.

Along with that his mutation effected his magic ability and he got a "mutated"(even if it isn't recognizable) version of giant Creation magic called ground, and its only difference is that it's far superior to every other giants normal creation magic.

Or:

His connection to the earth is inherently greater than other giants creation magic, and his stronger variant of creation magic is called ground.

It's one or the other.

Difference might be the fact that Dolor uses the earth to fuel every aspect of his power, while the Giants just use it to manipulate the earth.

That aspect of the Giants may have been lost to time. Despite Matrona knowing the dance and teaching it to Diane, it doesn't seem like she's any closer to becoming as strong as the ancient giants or Dolor either.

I am not sure I get your meaning. From what I get giants in general draw power from the earth which also has the implication of raising their PL (at least that is what is supposed to happen when they master the dance). So drawing power and just manipulating the earth should not be separate in either case. That said, if the difference was just in how they use the magics then it wouldn't be the case that the magics are different. It would be the same magic but applying it differently.

I mean, Zaratras and Gilthunder share the same type element magic, but still have different names. It could be the case where different enough applications can result in a different name. Or it could just be a difference in scale.

Possibly a stronger version of creation.

My guess is that Creation is the evolution of Ground, perhaps superior to ground in everyway also (we'll find out the latter when Diane is really to be Queen or alike figure).

Yeah but humans work under principles which make this possible. Humans develop their magic based on their experiences, feelings..... So two humans having similar magic makes sense. With Giants it's different, their magic is supposed to be innate to their species as a whole. So dolor having something like this is entirely unusual.

Well, Dolor is already unusual among the Giant Clan, so I still think it's possible that the application of how he does it is what makes Ground different from Creation. Or, again, it could be that the scale of the magic justifies an entirely different name.

How could Creation be an evolution of Ground when Dolor was superior to every Giants? He was born superior as the Giant King, with a Magic Eye as bonus even.

I don't see how Creation being superior to Ground would make sense.

I'm thinking Ground is a primitive Giant ability utilised by the Giants of old that looked slightly monstrous compared to Giants of now who look more humanlike.

I say Ground is inferior to Creation (it sounds inferior also) because Diane will become substantially stronger than Dolor was as a Giant (in fact, she's going to surpass him with his Demon buff), and she will have more prominent abilities. For example, I see Diane having awesome control over electromagnetic forces, enabling her to do what Irene (FT), Fujitora (OP), Madara (Naruto), or Gremmy (Bleach) did and pull down actually rocks from space.

I'm thinking Creation is fundamental more complex to grasp than Ground, and Diane is going to be the master of it.

Well, Dolor, as a kid/teen, was already surrounded by adult giants who were humanlike. Given Zeldris' comments on him, it sounds like Dolor is more of a mutation of a giant rather than primitive giant. I'd say his magic eye lends credence to that.

As for Ground versus Creation, nothing seems to indicate it (Ground) is inferior to Creation. Just because Diane's magic will be superior sometime in the near future, doesn't mean that Ground itself is inferior to Creation as a whole. Both appear to be capable of complex and intricate forms. Ground has given us Dolor's Doll, those giant hands that everyone fought on, and, most impressively, that giant miles wide maze that had a number of traps intricate traps within it. Creation has given us Ground Gladius, Rising Star, and Double Hammer. Ground obviously wins out in terms of scale and power, but that's easily rectified with a higher level. At least, if Diane's increased power level will allow her to create crystalline constructs like Dolor.
