Ajeel has a sand body because of his magic. He can just as easily stop using magic. Erza's Sea Empress sword is still a sword. Swords cut. The water has the effect of hardening his body so that it can be damaged by the cut. Water Nebula doesn't cut. Also, Juvia is not superior to Erza. Erza beat Juvia and Lisanna with Sea Empress armour back on Tenrou Island. It stands to reason that since Erza had more improvement than Juvia did since then as well, due to having second origin and just being a better mage overall. It takes Erza nothing less than Nakagami Starlight, her strongest armour, to take down Ajeel. No way is Juvia killing Ajeel with water nebula.
It doesn't matter a thing if Ajeel will be attacked by a water sword or a water spell. It's still the same, because it's water. Water is his weakness, not a sword.

Water hardens sand, which is not only stated in the manga but also is a fact. Try to imagine what would happen if Ajeel's sand body will be spammed by water. He will have the worst death he could ever imagine.

Juvia's magic is still weaker than Erza's though and it took Erza her all + Jupiter to defeat Ajeel. Maybe Juvia might get a few hits in the beginning but once Ajeel puts up Sand World, she is a goner.

Btw, not as terrible as God Serena and Igneel's :(

Actually, I just read the chapter again, and it doesn't actually say that Ajeel has a sand body. It says that Ajeel turns whatever touches him into sand.
When Ajeel remarks that Sea Empress Sword is a sword made of water, Erza reveals that it has the power to harden sand. You know what this means? It means that Ajeel is turning the sword into sand, and the sword hardens the sand to cut Ajeel. I've taken the liberty to revisit old scans to see if we've ever actually seen Ajeel turn into sand. He doesn't. He just turns whatever touches him into sand.
Ajeel is not more vulnerable to a blast of water than he is to a blast of Jupiter cannon. If push comes to shove, he'll just scatter the whole thing with a barrier. Also you do realize that Ajeel can probably choose to just stop using magic, right? It's not like Juvia turns into water all the time, or Laxus is always a bolt of lightning, or Rogue is always a shadow. If turning into sand is screwing himself over, he might as well stop.

The water itself from Erza's Neptune sword wasn't the DIRECT cause of Ajeel getting cut, it was the indirect cause. It didn't injure Ajeel, it just hardened his sand (this was stated directly by Erza) and made him vunerable to Erza's sword. It's kinda like Crocodile's weakness to water from One Piece. Juvia's water is going to harden Ajeel's sand, not one shot him.

OT:
1. Laxus
2. Ajeel
3. Lucy w/ CSK (her magic has gotten much stronger, so the CSK might be powerful enough to take down Mard now)
4. Mard Geer

I am conflicted between Jura and Kagura.

Jura has hype but Kagura sword unsheathed is just too powerful not to mention her gravity magic. Both are skilled fighters but in the end I believe I have to go with Kagura.

I chose Laxus, Ajeel, and Lucy.

Laxus nuke against Azir was pretty impressive and sand splitting puts him at the top.
Ajeel Sandworld was amazing and the fact he can dry people up and create sand monsters makes him a pretty tough opponent.
Lucy with the CSK is easily top and Gemini+Stardress makes her up their too.

In other words, Ajeel will scream in pain when Juvia uses Water Nebula against him. Isn't this pretty obvious? Once water touches him, it will hurt him. Facts are facts, there is no way around them.

How do you know this, when it's literally stated that water is his weakness? You just say things that never have been proven. He will never have a chance to split water. This is just baseless.

So you think Ajeel can stop his ability to turn everything to sand what touches him. Baseless, again. That's just like saying Evergreen and Bickslow have the ability to stop their eye magic.

You can't deny that Juvia will kill Ajeel once she uses her strongest attack against him.

And what happens when Ajeel is hardened. Well, we could say he is paralyzed. He won't have a chance to fight any further then.

There is a huge difference between getting hurt by an attack and getting killed in one shot. Not only can I reasonably deny that Ajeel won't die from Juvia's attack, I can deny that Juvia will ever manage to land a solid blow against Ajeel. It's not hard at all to avoid Juvia's attacks or overpower them.

I'm not making any baseless claims here. Quite the opposite, actually. It was stated that Ajeel can turn anything that touches him into sand. It was stated that Sea Empress Sword can harden sand. It was never stated that Ajeel can turn his own body into sand, and it was never stated that water did special damage against him. Taking it at face value, Ajeel's powers turned parts of Erza's sword into sand, and her sword hardened the sand so that it could cut.

Does Natsu not have the ability to simply not use magic so that stuff that touch him doesn't melt or burn up? Ajeel's magic is more similar to that than Bixlow or Evergreen's eye magic. Which, by the way, is something they can turn off. Evergreen can look at Elfman without turning him into stone.

Why not? The only thing she has to do is cast Water Nebula. It's not like Ajeel has a way to counter spells, his defense isn't very impressive. If Erza can hit him with a sword, Juvia can hit him with a spell without a doubt. If Ajeel is touched by this spell, he is death already.

What are you trying to say? That Erza's small water sword will do major damage to them while Juvia's full power water spell won't do any damage against him? Try to face it. Ajeel will scream in pain once Juvia uses her Water Magic against him. You can try whatever you want, but it has never stated that Ajeel can undo his sandbody ability.

I think you are making a faulty assumption in saying Juvia would one shot Ajeel. What i mean by that is whether something like Water Nebula would even do significant damage to Ajeel. I mean all Erza's water sword did was essentially negate his ability to turn objects that touch him to sand, and because it was a sword it cut him badly, who's to say Juvia's attacks would do that kind of damage? Not to mention Juvia can't conjure water on a level that can counter Sand World. To me it's a no brainer that Ajeel be in the top 4 here, if not top 2.

As for my pick's, i went with Ajeel,Laxus,Mard Geer and Mira. Ajeel was a simple choice, he is one of the Spriggan 12, and would have straight up beat Erza, someone i believe to be on par with Mira. Laxus is a beast, He beat Wahl with high Diff, then beat Hades without much rest. Nothing more really needs to be said haha. Mard Geer literally required Gray to have IDS magic, which was the only thing other than Natsu using Dragon Force that could significantly damage him. Memento Mori was ludicrous, not much else to say here. I struggled between Jura and Mira, mostly because before the timeskip Jura was clearly stronger. After seeing the portrayal of how easily Jura got wrecked by God Serena though, i would take Erza over him, and because i believe Erza=Mira, i am going with Mira here. Kagura was also worth consideration, mostly because i think she is close to equal with Erza and Mira, but i'll take Mira by a tiny bit here too. Lucy can summon the CSK, but only if she breaks a key, which she would almost never do. So i am not going to put that in my consideration here. I will say that Urano Metoria is no joke though.

Like I pointed out before, using Sea Empress armor Erza is superior to Juvia. Erza beat Juvia and Lisanna combined on Tenrou Island, and her improvement since then would only have served to further outclass Juvia. The fact that Erza needed to resort to Nakagami armor to put Ajeel down speaks volumes about Juvia's chances. Not to mention Ajeel has the ability to dodge Erza's strikes without much difficulty. The only reason he even stood there was because he thought swords can't hurt him. Ajeel also has the ability to completely surround Erza in sand, which Erza got out of because of her wind god sword. Juvia doesn't have that ability, so Juvia would never even have broken free from Ajeel's attacks in the first place. Ajeel can do this to Jupiter cannon. Water Nebula won't touch him.

Quite frankly it doesn't matter if Ajeel can undo sand body or not (though he should because he should be able to just stop using magic). What matters is that it has never been stated that water does special damage against Ajeel. Ajeel is simply damaged by Neptune's sword the same way anyone else would be damaged by Erza's swords.

Because Erza is stronger than Juvia don't say Erza will have a higher chance to defeat Ajeel. Juvia's magic is in a simple way super effective against Ajeel. Juvia just has a higher chance to win against him thanks to her magic. If they would've fought, everything would've went differently.

Juvia could easily broke free from sand attacks by using water.

I shall give you an example. Proxy Wahl's magic was Weakness. Thanks to this magic, he could create robots who possessed a magic that is super effective against that from their opponent. The robots are on the same level, since they don't differ. The Fairy tail mages who fought these robots had a lot trouble with their weakness, but when they switched, they could easily take down the robots.

If Erza couldn't defeat Ajeel doesn't mean Juvia can't as well because she would lose against Erza in a one-on-one battle. Fact is, Water Magic is Ajeel's weakness. Ajeel won't defeat his own weakness, just like the Fairy Tail mages couldn't defeat their weakness as well.

No, that's not true. There was a reason why Ajeel was hurt by her water sword.

No. Not only does Juvia not have a higher chance to beat Ajeel than Erza because she can't do half the things Erza can, but Juvia doesn't even have a decent chance to beat Ajeel because she is simply too outclassed. I just showed you Ajeel blocking the Jupiter cannon with one of his barriers. Juvia doesn't have a single attack that outclasses Jupiter. Furthermore, Juvia does not have the ability to scatter Ajeel's winds, so Ajeel can just trap Juvia in his sand like he did Erza right here. Only for Juvia can't scatter the sands with wind god's sword.
On top of that, Ajeel has massive AoE with spells like Sands of Death that will downright smother any attack Juvia bothers to through at Juvia's way. No way is Water Nebula overpowering this.

No, that's not true. There was a reason why Ajeel was hurt by her water sword.
I've already explained this. Ajeel is immune to normal swords because he can turn them into sand. The sand just bounces harmlessly off his body. Erza's sea empress sword can harden sand. The hardened sand allows it to cut Ajeel. Juvia can hurl water nebula at Ajeel. Either Ajeel turns it all into sand, and it bounces harmlessly off his body. Or Ajeel turns some of it into sand and he gets hit by a wave of mud. At worst, Juvia's water has the same effect that Erza's sword does and he gets hit by a wave of rock. Either way, he's unlikely to get cut, much less killed. This is assuming that Ajeel does not just overpower Juvia's water with one of his attacks.

Ajeel, Laxus and Mard Geer were my top 3, so that means the last slot had to go to either Jura or one of the 4 maidens in this fight, Juvia, Kagura, Lucy or Mirajane... for me that final slot became a popularity contest. Lucy wins!

Why is this even an argument? Even if Ajeel is super weak to water (which he's not water just allows physical objects to harm him) just because Erza hurt him doesn't mean Juvia would. Erza is >>>Juvia.

It shouldn't be. Even if Ajeel was super vulnerable to water (and again, he shouldn't be), the difference in power is far too great. Mard Geer is super vulnerable to devil slaying magic, and he still ran circles around Natsu and Gray. Juvia is a base-Wendy level mage at best. Ajeel has more magical power than anyone Fairy Tail has faced prior to the 1 year timeskip.

Everybody has his own opinion. I don't really mind if you disagree, but to me it seems pretty obvious that Juvia should be the worst nightmare from Ajeel.

When is it stated that Ajeel is as strong as God Serena? Imo God Serena is a lot stronger.

Fair enough. I agree with you that Ajeel could take Juvia down with his Sands of Death. I'm not withdrawing my statement, I still think Juvia will have a chance to defeat Ajeel when she has the oppurtunity to hit him. Since this is a battle royale, Juvia could attack him from behind, since Ajeel has to focus on six other opponents. In a one-on-one battle, it would be different. Well, everybody has his own opinion. Even if Ajeel would defeat Juvia, I still wouldn't vote form him since I rank Laxus, Mira, Mard Geer and the Celestial Spirit King above him.

I just don't get how people come up with stuff. If they're disputes now when they are clear cut winners imagine later on.
