Still no progress and again Troll... Well I think next chapter will be ippo going down about 6 pages then add 10 pages explaining how he can get back up... This fight is the worst Troll arc it could be compressed to 1 chapter but he need to milk it and make it 5 chapter before someone get punch

This arc is freaking infuriating... the manga itself has been down hill in quality and stagnant in story for far too long IMO, and if this is how it's going to continue he should pick up the pace to the final arc and end it. I'd hate to see him ruin it after so long by degrading further.

Wow! a month has passed, and only now is the first punch thrown?! Morikawa got the seal of approval from a troll master just recently.

My bet is, the punch will slide from ippo's face and or Ippo just shaking it off like it was nothing and landing his punch. Also, i bet Ippo's punch will be so powerful that kojima will have a flashback for 3 chapters and after that he will continue the fight with more reasons to win.

Guyz I get that all of you are mad because of the pace of the manga recently but jeez chill out already, I mean Can we get back to commenting about the actual chapter? I get your ranting, I really do, the pace had indeed been too d*mn slow during this arc however all of you have already stated your discomfort at least twice, it's time to realize that no matter hoy many times you complain it's not gonna change the fact that the plot is moving slow and move the f*ck on. In all seriousness if you're so displeased with the current development (or the lack of it) just drop the manga for like a year and maybe then this fight will be over.

Now about the chapter (Wich I really liked btw) I have a doubt, in page 16 (here) you can see in the bottom right panel Ippo's punch connected however in the last page Ippo's punch is not even touching Kojima's face What the heck just happened there? Did Ippo's punch landed first? If so Why was Kojima able to pull the counter? Did they knock each others out? I knew this fight would end in a One-Hit-KO by either Kojima or Ippo, I mean Why else would Morikawa stretch this "fight" so long? Besides he already hinted it at near the beginning of the arc but now i find myself doubting this outcome.

there are 2 possibilities on this scenario

1.the one showing a skull breaking is Kojima that Ippo's punch is so fast that even Kojima released a counter it hits Ippo's face but with no power on it (on past chapters we saw Ippo's hands making sounds by just making a fist he also trained his neck to withstand those punches) and then Kojima will fall down (DEAD)

if #1 will be the next one i think the referee will stop the fight noticing Kojima not breathing and a lot of people speculate that the punch Ippo released killed Kojima well ever since ippo started boxing he always break something on his enemies ribs mostly and their spirits (harhar) if this happens i don't know if this is Ippo' s first time to hit someone on his temple

Kojima is boasting about his 2 tone punch but Ippo's punch is more than 2 tons well remember this guy? he feels like Ippo's punch is a drill

if #1 will not happen please refer to #2 this one doesn't need a description because we know what will happen :P

OK so the plan is to deal ippo a damaging blow via counter then waste his stamina? i thought the battle plan is waste ippo's stamina early on so he can't throw those punches... a blow to the head prob disorient him a lot but i dont think it magically waste his stamina unless the guy start pummeling ippo's gut for a while?

I really hate these has beens (like the other old geezer) who magically gain the courage to fight Ippo - maybe ippo should be a trainer and level up mediocre boxers -_-

In page 16 it looks like its kojima who got hit but then in the next page we see that's its ippo... did they hit at the same time or am I missing something here... anyway... we finally get a punch thrown in this fight ...I've been waiting for that for weeks, now let's see how it all turns out

I didnt think they were going to kill Ippo wow what a crazy turn of events. But in all seriousness for a 2 ton truck punch Ippo sure didn;t move much. (Besides his head going all exorcist). I'm leaning towards Ippo taking a down. Everybody starts to panic, then eventually itagaki gives ippo takamuras message and Ippo somehow wins. That is the prediction.

If the guy getting countered wasn't Ippo, it would be over by now. (i agree with Jinoku) I think Ippo will stagger or even fall but i dont think he will b KO'd. It wouldnt be an HnI manga if it ended quickly.

Yeah that thread closing was quite frustrating.


I liked the chapter. To the extent that I read it a few times.


I reeeaaallly hope the referee isn't 5 times faster than the 2 guys in the ring and won't manage a split second feat of picking up the mouthpiece from the floor and getting in between two boxers . That would be pretty anticlimatic.

I've been thinking that the bell will ring soon because they took quite a bit of time to start the match... if the bell ring it will probably be before Ippo has the chance to retaliate
