It's not hype over just the trailer; the movie's already been released for a week or two, and a lot of the hype has come from people who've seen it.

How many video game shops are there in US? In UK there's only two (not counting CEX) and they are owned by the same people. , where's the competition....?

only ones I can think of are gamestop/electronics boutique. Before there used to be those two as separate entities and one more....funco land or some shit, but gamestop pretty much bought them all out and we just have gamestop. There might be more, but I don't know about them. However, if people want to get video games, we have places like best buy, target (a department store), walmart, etc. so we're not just stuck with gamestop...gamestop does some kinda of shitty things.

New PS3 and X360 games usually cost between $50 and $60 depending on where you buy them. Wii games - I have no clue. I've never bought one even though I own the system.

Used games vary depending on popularity.

A used PS3 COD4 is still $35 at gamestop/ebgames[here]
used Halo 3 is also $35...

It's cheaper to buy online now, you get it quicker as well. Though sometimes I just go to the shop for the sake of just going out.

I get most of my things online now....mostly all electrical stuff I have except my laptop and ipod I've bought online...

It's better to buy electronics from the official company sites than ebay .

when I bought my Sony Vaio laptop online, it was state of the art technology but with the same price as the laptops at the electronic stores (Future shop), which were older btw. Shipping was very quick and customer service is better since I got it directly from the company.
