Guys, is this good for a CV? Because at the moment I am sure and unsure whther a 17 year old is supposed to have a CV. Any suggestions is possible, or anything which needs to be deleted. Really need help, and am I supposed to be making a CV? Is it good or bad?

A student from Yardley’s Secondary School. I have skills and essentials for ICT. I am a hard-working, reliable person with excellent timekeeping and attendance. I am capable of working on my own initiative and function well as an effective team member. I have good interpersonal skills, and can be trusted and relied upon to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently. I am well-presented, friendly and extremely polite. I am looking for a post in computers and ICT systems where I can use my strong influencing skills.

WORK EXPERIENCE

For my work experience I worked as a reception assistant for a well-known Health Centre, namely Sparkbrook Health Centre, in Birmingham. There I used the computers to sort out and data handle patients’ information regarding their cause of illnesses and then book their appointments. I answered patients’ questions as a receptionist and lent advice when asked. I answered phone calls and took their information in.

I also developed my interpersonal skills when dealing with the public, and learned how to provide excellent customer service. I only held this post for one week as it was work experience, which is essential whilst attending school.

My work experience has involved working within a team-based culture. These involved using computers, answering phone calls, team work, planning, commitment. E.g., sorting out patients’ information which led to booking appointments.

INTERESTS

Sport. I believe a healthy body is the key to a focused mind in today’s hectic society. I enjoy a small range of sports from Tennis to Muscle Building. I work out 2 hours every day from Monday to Friday. On the weekends I go out with my friends and play Tennis or Football. I like to keep in shape and it keeps me motivated.

Technology. I like to work with technology from computers to Mobile Phones. I keep myself occupied with fixing problems with the equipment. I like to fix things and find new ways of improving a piece of technology.

Living life. We only get one shot out of this life so I aim to get the most out of it. I love the thrills of roller coaster rides, camping, as well as travelling to different countries. I love to have a good time with my family and friends, also having a good social life.

Don't worry I have the address and name etc but that's personal details. But this is just the main part of the CV. Is it good or bad? Anything needed to improve etc? Please do read it whoever is reading this post because I am in a tough situation and am scared of the CV. <.< CV is supposed to be soooo good and serious, is this good? Thanks.

Add both your good and bad sides, it's good to be able to reflect over yourself, but don't make yourself look bad, if you are for example really tired in mornings yo should write something that you can do to prohibit that n stuff. ppl like when u give urself both positive n negative critics

edit, like do yo have any merits? for example, i've been in a project with a daycare center for hiv/aids infected/affected kids where we started a fund, had pp's for the high hens and cooperations to raise money, then we went to RSA and visited the daycare center, did stuff with the kids and gave them hygienic articles and stuff they needed...
(That merit alone kinda gave me my current part-time job)

So like, it doesn't have to be like that but maybe a project you've been part of or something like that, any youth organisation you're in? Everything that makes you look committed

I have certificates in ICT and work experience. Okay, have you read the CV? Then say if you are the employer and I am the employee and I am looking for a normal job as a Sales assistant. What do you think of my CV? Would you consider it? Or not?

It'd depend, I can speak from my experience but culturally CVs do change from place to place, especially if it's one for a part time job.

Well in Canada the government provides an online "CV maker" where you just punch in the info and it prints out a CV for you. I just used that and tweaked the printed version a bit to get mine.

Like I said, expectations for CVs vary from place to place and from job to job.

I can tell you the requirements of where I live, but they may be different from yours. For example, personal statements aren't required here for part time jobs.
