Yeah I had the same problem, whereas there isn't as much creative work as I thought there would be or had imagined, but I just stuck to it cos I thought I might aswell learn about other aspects of technology.

So what hoe far along were you before you decided to change courses?

After I finish, I might do a architecture course. I always wanted to do it before but I needed a good level of maths and it wasn't really my thing.

Well I'm a technological geek in a sense, but I don't think I'm into it enough to spend the rest of my life doing it. It's more of a hobby really.

And unfortunately, I went too long in before realizing I wanted to switch. It took one month of classes before I made my decision and by then, it was too late to withdraw without paying(I withdrew, but I still have to pay) and it was too late to swap programs(seeing as the programs I want are at other Universities, I have to wait until next Fall before I can attend).

But I picked Architecture mostly because it seems halfway between science and art, I realize I'm not either side enough to pick a pure branch in each, but something midway looks good to me. I wish I had realized this sooner though because Architecture at the Uni I want is restricted(only 50 spots out of ~700 applicants) and I got in last year when I applied(but I rejected it to go into Eng.). Now I have to apply again and I might not be guaranteed to get in at all.

If you are good with number then Finance is a good choice. Mind you Finance itself is quite laborious at times. However, later on you can go for CA/ACCA and variants, pays you well.

Anyways~ I'm doing Telematics Engineering.
(Telematics = Telecommunications + Electronics + Information Technology).

Yeah it's a great course, but hard still. Here the course is 3 years long, and I'm in my 3rd year.

Telematics eh? that's quite a combo aswell, you're the first person I've heard doing that major, I'm gonna try and find out what it's like over here.
How are you finding it?

Hmm can anyone give me advice when switching from polar opposite fields(i.e. science to arts)? I've heard that sometimes it can be difficult considering your affinities at being logical vs being umm artsy?

How are you finding it?

It's all great. You probably never heard about it because it formally ''born'' in Europe (omg,you are European, lol.) Nevertheless, not all countries have it, therefore not all colleges have it, and not all of them have it as an Engineer degree (some as masters, some as a Diploma).

In here it's kind of long too, since the program makes emphasis in Electronics. (4 years and 4 months).

Basically, you can control and design GPS systems, Antennas, use of Microprocessors, communications as a whole (Cellphones programs, like SMS for example), control and creation of networks (and all kinds of networks... wireless included), control and supervision of traffic communications (the coding for street lights to work properly)...

One of last year's graduates, for example, made as his final project a device that when a Hospital Truck had a patient, all streets lights would go green, but in a way that would make sure that the traffic would still run smoothly.

You know what, when I first started my degree 2 years ago, I was so looking forward to just finishing it; thinking that studying wasn't really my thing. But now I've really gotten into the rhythmn of researching, going to classes, group sessions, and all I think I might be interested in doing another degree after I finish. Cos I'll still be young after this degree.
