seems interesting, what part of the US did you go to?

I've been to DC, Florida, and NYC mainly, but I've done a few stops in between those spots(since normally we go by car).

Have you ever traveled anywhere?

i have traveled everywhere within California, been to Nevada, Washington, and Arizona. not anywhere too flashy. I have plans to travel the world some day, but i need money for that.

You have a job or something you can save money from?

i do, i work on an Internet website selling tools and what not. i basically build the code for the website like someone would do for their Myspace.

I work part time since I'm also going to college. do you work as well?

Yeah I have 2 part time jobs and a 3rd "job" maybe.

My 2 part times are being an assistant dance teacher and a computer sales rep/aisle girl/photocopy girl/cashier/furniture sales rep at Staples.

My other "job" might be working at my friend's web design company. Apparently he says I could make lots and lots of money for little effort(like a 500-1000$ cut per contract for a website)

is it hard balancing both jobs? or are you well organized?

web design you say... thats a lot of dinero, that would be great if you got it that way you can take me traveling because who doesn't need money now and days.

aka its terrible, and it looks like crap lol

meh most of the time I'm just surfing the net or doing h/w. It is a workstudy job after all, I'm not actively looking for real work. Studying economics/finance is my main focus right now

and you guys should travel, the world is a pretty swell place outside of home

@after: Well when I was attending school it was pretty tough at first, but I learned how to balance it because it became a regular thing(classes were regular and Staples more or less always gave me the same shifts due to my availabilities).

I have to check with my friend about the other job. I mean, he's doing the hard part of it (the coding), but he says I can still get a decent cut for doing the graphical part.

@crimson: Ah okies, well at least your job has to do with the field you're studying in. Both of my jobs are pretty generic student jobs and won't look all that impressive on a CV.

Oh no no, I'm on a temporary break because I'm switching programs at University(well I'm also switching Universities lol ).

I switched because I didn't find my old program interesting. I made a bad pick based on time limits rather than my preference(basically I picked my 2nd choice over my 1st one because the 2nd one answered first and I needed to give them a reply before a given date).

Mind you, I realized that I'm not cut out for my 2nd choice(which was Engineering). I find it easy and boring and it just doens't carry enough creative challenge for me.

I kinda realized this when I was drawing during my logical systems class rather than writing notes.

I give you props for actually following what you want to do. Most people just pick what is easiest for them and settle for that. do you have to make anything up (like classes) because you are moving to a different university?

Well I'm taking a big risk by doing this, but this is what I wanna do. By big, I mean that I'm being put back a year(since I'd start school next Fall) and I'm not guaranteed to even get in the program I want(since it's a restricted program with 50 spots).

But still, I'm ready to make the jump considering I want to do something I like if I'm given the chance(since I'm not constrained by money or anything).

Oh and I don't really have to take any classes since I did the required pre-university diploma before(which is a college science degree). The thing that sucks is that none of my classes get credited.

I hope you get in the program, Sucks how limited the number of spots that are available. What year of university is it going to be for you?
