Nope finishing my 12th year

I live in newham which is on the otherside of the thames so it is a treck.

@ Ren - Oh cool. So how's sixth form going? You like?

Due to the vast ammounts of independant study and less communication between the students and teachers. It is much harder to get work done if your incapable of doing it, gratefully I can do it. Unfortunately although, I haven't got into that mentality of discipline where I will do that independant studying which unfortunately in the long run could make me not get a better grade than predicted for. Nevertheless with up-coming exams coming up I feel a surge of motivation coming up and hopefully i can do it.

The sixth form I go to, the people are friendly but they must suffer with bipolar where there emotions easily jump and their views and opinions on one another change thus causing an uneasy vybe in the canteen. I have turnt out quite popular which I have detested every moment(because my twin also goes there) so you have twin related questions even to this late point of the year.

The year has gone very fast and I can say I have probably enjoyed it. I have learnt so much within this year; something which I didn't think was possible at the level I was working at during GCSE. And with the specific subjects it is much easier to work on an aspiration so hopefully this year and next year turn out good with the results and I can end up in a good university.

A Level's are a massive step from GCSE's. The latter are a piece of cake imho. You can revise the night before and still pass with a grade B. A Level's are completely different. I studied English Language & Literature, History, Geography & Economics at A Level. I loved every single English lesson I had during my time at college. I learnt more (about the real world) in my two years at College compared to my 5 years at secondary school. Year 7, 8 & 9 are completely pointless. Yr 10 & 11 is the real deal. Mess around and have fun in the first three years lol and then focus in the last two. Well, that's what I did anyway.

I know what you mean, Ren. It took me a while to adjust with independent studying and whatnot. I kept avoiding my studies at the beginning of my first year at college (too many parties! xD) but tbh looking back at it now; all that hard work (sleepless nights, stressing the f**k out and sh*t like that) at college was worth it. It kinda sets you up for uni if you know what I mean.

There is me waffling on about how college is yet I don't tell you what I am doing. Currently I am doing English Language and literature, Business Studies, General Studies and Media studies. I too also enjoy english because of the reading and being able to interpret something freely(well not to the point where you make ludicrous ideas.) also you learn a lot in general about people's theologies, philoposies and other stuff so when learning about a poem you breifly touch on who the poet is and learn about his history and I have learnt a lot. Currently in the subject I am reading a book named the River Sutra, based on a lot of Jainism. Before I read the book I didnt even know there was a religion named Jainism but now I breifly know it's concept.

Heck I shouldn't even be complaining, university will be much worst when it comes to being able to do independant study. Parties every other week, and because of the lax of things you just can't be bothered with things. But as you said college independancy sets you up for uni so I need to get into that mood...fast!

Well Newham is not really, "out of the endz" as it is closer to Charing Cross(centre of london) than Croyden is to charing cross. Depending where abouts in croyden, it is not that far from the green belt and when your near the green belt your basically nearly out of london.

OMG, I was so bad at analyzing poems during my secondary school years; I blame 50% of it on the crappy teachers I had. First week of college, what did I receive? One of those Anthology of poetry booklets.

Luckily, my English teachers were superb tutors! They really helped me a lot. Learning about linguistics, terminology and *as you mentioned* people's theologies & philosophies in class was really interesting. I love class debates and presentations; they're always a lot fun imo.

Scary thing is my teacher is more sadistic than...Donquixote Doflamingo. I don't know but she really does orgasm when she hears the word "verb or noun" why she does this, maybe her love for linguistics is just beyond our belief.

Maaan thats the only subject i used to flunk poems are a dread, English literature.......... at the end of standard 7 my teach came o me and said ...shaheer ,i ll tell you frankly, you are good at maths but u suk in literature, you have no flow of heart and added some wishi washy Shakespearean words and concluded that i am a disappointment as every one else scored more than 60 and i was 55

Those Anthology books brings back memories boy. I can't believe it was 9 years ago that I started secondary school, when you put it like that it makes me sound old. I was shit at english, I was in the 3rd set(classes rank by exam level) in english but I really owe my B in GCSE to my english teacher, the coolest Jamaican woman I've ever met. She came in year 11 but really fixed us up.
