Yes, heres the dreaded message for all those that have yet to see it. I'm gonna have to go fishing for a new place to read more than half the manga I'm reading now . We will stick together here and help each other through this one!!!

Man, some tough times ahead. Onemanga was the library everyone went to for references and catch up on manga or start up new ones.

Hopefully this will boost up sales of mangas, but onemanga will definitely be missed.

I really don't like to see the manga industry fail but I honestly don't be manga and read everything in secrecy online . Its gonna be hard now to get into new series and to catch up on some. Mangastream seems like its still going strong, but they don't have a database and only keep up 5 chapters at a time, plus all the manga that I read isn't on Mangastream. Man I'm really gonna have to go crazy now trying to find the stuff I'm looking for .

I'm so sad... I hope the Manga industry will notice the decline of manga readers fast enough that it will really ruin them in the near future... uwaaah

i know it's sad that OneManga.com is shutting it's online reading down, but it's mainly because the industry isn't getting enough support when it comes to actual people buying the titles and i believe the Manga Editors have encouraged people to do so on their credits pages.

hate to say this, but most of the blame comes from us, the fans period. i mean, even if you can at least, collect "one" manga series, would help somewhat. and don't get a guilty conscious, this is directed towards those who just read and download the Edited Mangas and then, do not buy anything in the stores, conventions or online. (if the shoe fits, stop wearing it).

the same thing can be said for "anime". the fansubs are cool, but many aren't buying the series. i loved "FMA Brotherhood" and will be buying it when available on DVD because it was that damn good.

but, as i said, the fault is on us in some way and sooner or later down the line, online reading and downloads will be banned and then, you won't have a choice but to buy the books. and, the manga companies could be a-holes and sell the books wrapped in plastic where you can only read them if you buy them. hopefully, that won't be the case, but if it's necessary to raise sales for the industry, it will be done.

i think more should be done on are part as fans. i think ideas should be discussed on better supporting and improving the industry and i am willing to listen and share ideas.

now in everyones opinion, whats the second best site after onemanga to find all the manga listed in my sig, mangastream is set up more like a newspaper than an archive. or are we doomed to scavenge the internet every week now?

p.s., Mangastream will get their notice just like Onemanga and this website. eventually, online manga reading and downloading will be banned all together from the internet. that's just the way it's gonna be in the next few years and it's a reality that a lot of us (me included) are going to have to accept.

i noticed this the other day when i had the urge to re-read Bleach from chapter 1 ( got alot of free time as waiting to go back uni in sep ).

was the only website to read alot of manga coz in uk hard to get latest volumes or even older complete volumes.

at least mangastream be still going hopefully need my latest bleach fix

I've started to slowly collect my OP volumes, I've got 10 over the last 2 months and its so cool, the only setbacks and things that piss me off is the edits, translations which are horrible at most of the time, and the volumes don't have the flap jackets and look as the raws. With that said, hopefully my japanese lessons will slowly progress soon to a level where I can buy the raws.

Darkness is slowly coming, this decision to ban onemanga is gonna be a double edged knife; it will force people to buy manga but it'll be hard for new mangas to get established and recognition to a wide audience.

your argument though, is old. anime and manga in the u.s. has always been behind the original japan releases. it's been like that since the 90's and it's 2010 and sh*t is still the same, because the "industry" is still small in the u.s.

just because Naruto and Bleach are popular reads, doesn't mean the entire manga industry is doing well. it's just those two titles. for instance, Naruto is really big in the u.s. that's why Viz Media put 3-4 volumes out a month because the demand for "Naruto" (not manga in general) was so great and there was potential for profit.

this is a business first, before anything and the business has to be supported if you want what you want. period. and unfortunately, there's a limited interest in manga versus interest in the whole industry all together. it is, what it is.

I don't have any problems buying the volumes,if they just would be available here...I mean i am buying every single volume of Naruto and other series,but OneManga had even more manga.How am i supposed to read 'em? (T_T)

it happened to P2P music/movie downloads. i guess it was just a matter of time b4 it happened to scans. but unlike music and movies, updated and regular mangas are hard to come by for many of us. then again, mebe the manga industry do not get the same kind of revenue as the music/movie industry and has to resort to this measure.

Even though this is limiting one type of manga "distribution" it will open up 10 new ways, one of them, is the platform type similar to myspace but for manga that is currently getting developed under the name of OpenManga, but I'm sure that we will see a lot of different coalitions, projects, platform developments to broaden the manga distribution and this means we may get some platforms which has contracts to different magazines which mean we might get one type of platform for battle mangas, one for lovcoms etc.

Anyways, enough of that. It's days like these where you wish you lived in the capital or in a large city... I mean, my god there's like an invasion of people and the city's population just quadrupled...
Well, there's this big market/tivoli/thing going on today and there's more german/danish/skåningar than real swedes... (I count skåne as half-danish) and it's like... I don't know how many thousands of people but it was insane! Luckily it's over soon, and I bought this awesome fluffy puppy that snores and some cool clothes. Damn I'm awesome.... Even though I'm a fucking mess after being wandering the streets for hours
