It makes an excellent film. Truly excellent.

I just double-checked and they only shortened the film (you have to admit it was long) so its not the worst "Americanised" thing out there. And it seems the full two parts came out on dvd so not bad all round to be honest.

Red Cliff is epic film tho..or Chi Bi whatever feel like calling it..

just love fact made Zhao Zilong (Zhao yun depending on translation) a uber warrior..the opening of part one at Chang Ban and saving Liu Chan is brill set piece

(US TV really is the worst kind of culture I know. US culture/arts actually do produce some nice things, but US TV and most movies just represent the worst)

I think I watched Red Cliff in German... high quality movies often have quite acceptable synchronisation actually (In case of the Simpsons possibly even better than the original). Movies and series not so popular in Germany get total crap syncs (such as Naruto for example) in exchange but I guess that's not very unique to Germany.

By the way is there any forums or thread on MH for a general digital art/photoshop discussion? Just wondering since there are many skilled people on MH.

Why not watch it with German subtitles? I think it ruins a lot of the atmosphere if you dub it, but I didn't grow up with dubbing so I don't really understand it. I just think it ruins the atmosphere but I dunno... Can't really look at it from an unbiased perspective.

Germany has surprisingly good dubs!They don't ruin the atmosphere at all,because the voices fit and give it a new kind of atmoshphere.I know how some movies are handeled in Poland.There is one speaker who speaks the the lines and in the background you can here the original sound.It seems rather fanmade.In Germany,though,every character has his fitting voice and the sound matches the mouth movements.You can't really complain,unless you want to watch it in the original form with subtitles(which is better imo)

Yeah usually I watch alot of subtitled stuff but in case of Red Cliff it just happened that it was on TV if I remember correctly
In case of high quality productions (doesn't have to mean that the storyline is high quality - Hollywood spending millions on useless movies which at least "look" high quality on the surface - Guess you get what I mean) German dubs, as Googlez-kun said, they actually are surprisingly good and often match atmosphere quite perfectly. There's a quite large pool of good German voice actors, I even read an article about them beeing especially well organised compared to other countries (with, as googlez also wrote, poland as an example of how bad dubs are created )

Right now I'm parallel racking my brain over Berserk outlines as I plan to colourise a panel. Sheesh it's so much harder with a manga having very detailled drawings compared to stuff like Naruto.

The thing is that everything turns into a muddy something on higher zoom levels, making it hard to seperate parts and lines (as I'm really bad in interpreting lines anyways)

It took me alot of refencere shots from other pages to at least approximately understand what's going on there °_°

Not really. There are those galleries, which are basically a place artists use to proclaim their new works (actually not. the majority is still spaming theirs in the manga art sections, which makes the galleries kinda useless, or like just for the collection purpose only), and some tutorial threads for sigs and stuff.

But I'd be very grateful if you'd open a sort of Artists Hangout, where one can ask questions and exchange methods, styles and there really are some competent people who might answer that. MH does really miss something like that. So far I've had to migrate to other sides when I came to that..

Good question mate. I think thats a pretty good idea. I looked around for a place that matched your needs but it wasn't easy.
The general Discussion thread doesn't seem appropriate for that either. I saw the the Tutorial 8 Workshop area and thought it might be a good idea.
Since its a tutorial and workshop area, it might an appropriate area for some kind of general discussion thread about photoshop. Create a thread there and i'll poke the other mods and see if there is a better place to have a thread like that. If we find a better area, we'll just move it there.

It'll mean he almost killed a quarter of Kaster's people. As a guy from the Netherlands I find this hard to believe, because that would've been big news of course..
