Actually the very same question was asked here.

And I really can't see the big interest in Hellsing here. Sure, it's pretty popular and (almost) everybody knows of it but the amount of people who post in say, this thread, is pretty low.

This is a case of Gintama and Mx0.

Sure, they're fairly popular, but look at how empty and dead the sections are.

Just a single Hellsing thread serves it's purpose and tenfolds.

ultimate! hands down no question about it!

the old one was ok if you havent read the manga but if you have read the manga then the old one just fades away into nothingness.

so i say Ultimate, cause its better

well...ultimate is definitly better. after the enceouter in hellsing mansion they've proven that filelrs can even ruinate a godlike manga. incognito is one of lamest opponents i ever saw in a anime (naruto fillers don't count. thatw as not animation, that was a illness)

I have thoroughly enjoyed Hellsing Ultimate. Not having read the manga before (I'm waiting until it's finished) but still feeling that the original TV series had an ultimately unsatisfying ending, I have loved every second of Ultimate. The animation quality is pretty high up there, and the music is also pretty enjoyable and fitting (though fans of the original will probably burn me at the stake for saying so).

^ Well, I'm not going to push for death because of your opinion...

But I think that the original show's sound track was infinitely better than anything Ultimate has given us so far. It made a much more lasting impression, it set up the mood better, and I still listen to it from time to time. I don't even think the two are comparable.

That said, the music is the only thing the original has on Ultimate. Everything else is better in the OVA.

I heard that writer took 2month breaks and the chapter (87) should be out already .. yesterday (10/30/2007) but i couldnt find any raw around here and there :<

Okay this is how you go about Hellsing
Step 1: Watch the original Tv series, you will like it if you haven't read the manga.
Step 2: Read the manga from the beginning its not too long unfortunately.
Step 3: Watch Hellsing ultimate after doing this you will like ultimate better.

Note: This may sound like heresy, I thought so too at first but the English voice actors are better, thats right BETTER than the Japanese ones especially Anderson voice. So watch it in english if you can.

Note2: Ultimate is better than the original because the charters made more freaken sense in ultimate and ultimate will have a better story.

i agree. plus, and i cant stretch this enough: When a story takes place in England. then the characters should speak english, its that simple. If it takes place in Japan then they should speak japanese.
