Done Help with Chinese!

so translating another chapter, yet im completely baffled by this phrase:

"笨蛋！ 你现在才知道我们八字不合的原因啊？"

My translation would be:
Idiot! You just figured why us "8 characters" are on bad terms?

i'm really confused as to how to translate that "八字“ part, and maybe a little on the whole "bad terms" part as well =/
as far as i can tell, no other reference or hint has been made to the 八字 thing anywhere else in the series

I think the "八字" here refers to "生辰八字"
The phrase above represents the eight characters that used to determine a person's birth data for astrological purposes.
"不合" refers to unsuited to or not conform to

So I think "笨蛋！ 你现在才知道我们八字不合的原因啊？"
should be "Idiot! Now you just figured out why our birth charts are incompatible to one another?"
