It's koi from nishikigoi, goi would be wrong spelling. Koi is the japanese word for carp.

hmm yeah the plural is goim or gojim in german, though I believe goi is used to describe non-jews in general too. Wrong grammar definitely but the meaning stays.

Koi carp fish! Some of them can grow real big. They're pretty expensive over here.

I once went to an aquatic centre with a massive tank full of them. They're pretty~ Some of the larger ones can cost up to a grand. O.O

Apparently, they have this muddy taste to them. I've only tried trout but I guess it's similar to carp. <_<

I never said it was correct...they're just referred to by both. But it's almost always koi.

Neither have I. It turned me off when I heard it had a muddy taste and trout doesn't have a particularly flavoursome taste either.
