Hi all!
I'm new here. I'm just about to get back into art and I love working with
sketches so after discovering it last week, I'm all about it!

I have a question: Bleach Manga has White, Light Grey, Dark Grey and Black;
Is this the norm? Should I create tones that have these extra two Grey values or should
I just stick with bitmap (black/white)?

I'm planning on getting an A3 scanner and using Ink with Nib Pens. Then using
and creating Screen Tones in GIMP.

Any advice or warstories are quite welcome!

Hi,
I love Bleach. I am looking forward to some Naruto too. I'd pay to read Bleach which is
the one of the few I'm familiar with. Too bad Borders closed shop.

I wanted to simulate the atypical Manga creation process, that's why I asked about
the levels of grey. I'll have to weather it out and see how it looks.

I was initially considering colour. But b&w is so damned visceral!!

Bleach huh, I wont comment on that since I know you like it ^^

And about color, have you seen how the korean webtoons are made? The artists work as hell and its mostly done in a computer, but it looks awesome.

As Charles already said, Tog and noblesse are a good example, but if you want a simpler coloring example look for Kubera's art.
Specially the newer chapters, since in the first chapters the art isnt that great.
