I was hoping he would post again and then I would mention it...

I finished it two nights ago. The anime is well done, but maybe I'm stupid (which is definite), but many things still weren't clear even after being "explained". A revisit is probably necessary.

Another problem I had was sometimes scenes were really dark. So much so that I couldn't tell what was going on. It was probably intentional, but jesus...

There are some seemingly random episodes in the middle of the series I could do without. They seemed forced and somewhat filler, even though most served a purpose.


Maybe I'm being too critical, since most say it's a great series. I think it's just short of great. There are many fantastic things about it, and many unique things about it. It is not a shallow series at all, but at times I just didn't know what the hell I was watching or what they were talking about. There was a bit of wasted potential. Pino and Vincent Law are great characters. Re-l is your typical princess-tsundere character in a sense, but she's cool enough and expanded upon enough where she doesn't feel generic....tough to explain.

Even so, I didn't drop it and I think it's worth watching.

Ergo Proxy was really good...just not GREATNESS

But maybe if I revisit it I'll change my opinion. I also watched it in a fragmented way.

I don't see the need of using maybe...

Ergo Proxy is a great series but I wont say its one of my favorite. Nonetheless, I like the entire setting of the series. The ending part of last episode of Eureka Seven Ao almost made me shed a tear. Next, Psycho Pass and have to find either a good mecha or fantasy / supernatural series.

I'm also agree with (almost) all of your opinion about Ergo Proxy. The bottom line is it's just worth watching, but I'm not going to pimp it up to other people. Well, better move on to a great Anime like.. Minami-ke : Tadaima (released in January 2013)
