Yeah, my mom and I were screaming, "Oh no, not RGIII!" :gwah

At least the Redskins have good backup quarterback to save the day. ^^
They were heavily criticized for drafting Kirk Cousins last spring. I do like him, for a rookie he's a very solid QB. My mom momentarily forgot he was on the team, and was terrified Rex Grossman was about to come in the game :XD

I was terrified when he came out the second time. Seeing him able to stand without help on the sideline, congratulating Cousins was a huge relief. The MRI was negative, only a knee sprain. There is no timetable for his return yet, but I bet he'll be fine for next week. He's a really tough guy, a real football player, not just a quarterback. He said as soon as he got hit he "screamed like a man". Four straight wins, a winning record, and two more wins than all of last year. I'm happy.

I considered the left guy, but he has no hair. Weighing the options carefully the guy to the right seemed most probable as you could have simply taken the glasses off, while the other would require you to lose your hair.
This is very true, but I only really take my glasses off to sleep. Maybe if both dudes could be combined into one dude, they would be more like me.

The Ravens played well, except for Flacco.

Not true. He played pretty efficiently. When it mattered most the line just couldn't hold up. I'm guessing you weren't watching the same game or you're just trolling.

I do not troll about football.

Flacco cost the Ravens the game with two unnecessary turnovers. He should have tucked the ball and took the sack, rather than throw the desperation heave intercepted by London Fletcher. A sack in that situation would not have moved the Ravens out of field goal range. His interception cost the team three potential points, and the win. His fumble near the beginning of the second half was also avoidable. Flacco leaves the ball exposed too long, allowing for easy strip-sacks. That fumble resulted in a field goal, the difference in the game.

I am not under any delusions about him, a strip sack is not only a QB's responsibility. I think people are too down on him as well as some who are too up on him. You're never as good or as bad as people say.

He played well enough to win, but the team had major inconsistencies on both sides of the ball. Too bipolar for my tastes.

The line is only responsible for the sack. Sacks are a fact of life in football, they are just going to happen. It's the quarterbacks responsibility to either throw the ball away, or tuck it and take the loss, depending on the situation. Turnovers happen, they can't all be avoided, but the two today were avoidable. In a close, well played game, turnover differential is the key to winning or losing. The Ravens lost the turnover battle, 2-1, and lost the game.

Flacco is a flawed quarterback, not a bad one. He is good enough to win games, but at times plays very poor situational football. He will turn the ball over at bad times, he will take unnecessary sacks, and he is not always the most accurate quarterback. I'd still take him over about 2/3 of the current QB's in the NFL.

I think the entire coaching staff has an issue with situational football, and it's been this way to varying degrees since Harbaugh has been here. It is usually something that occurs on offense, but this year, due to a variety of reasons, it's happening on defense too. We had changes in personnel, but not enough that it should factor to this degree. The injuries have been key as well though, this is as injured a Ravens defense as I can remember. I'm not one of these types that bashes the hell out of playcalling but I think we got away from the running game for no reason. You guys weren't stopping Rice or Pierce for the most part. A bit more success stopping the run by bother teams in the second half though.

That was a great game though, and your rookies impressed. I was more impressed with Alfred Morris though. If he fixes that fumbling problem he should be a top-tier back in the league for some years. I always like a running style like this as well. RG3 has got to do something about his feet though, he's relying too much on muscle for his throws.

Griffin played well, but I would not call this one of his best games. He's actually better when he stays in the pocket, less effective throwing on the run. He was under more pressure today than I can remember him being in all season. He threw a lot of ball today, more than usual. This was also one of the few games he completed less than 60% of his passes. The Ravens played him better than any team this season, except maybe Pittsburgh.

Morris has been a beast this year, he's a real bulldozer. Typical Shanny late round discovery. I'm not worried about fumbles, they've only been a problem the last three games.

The NFC East is pretty interesting. The idea that the Cowboys are still alive is a bit nuts. I have no idea what the schedule is like for the remainder of the year, but I could see the Redskins at least being a Wildcard team. The other maybe coming out of the North since it seems none of those teams know what they're up to this year.

This eggball topic does not amuse me. Let's switch to something far more interesting.

Gary, do you have big feet?

:errr

I tend to wear white socks when dressing casually, which is a majority of the time. Dark socks and anything other than a dress shoe just looks odd.

I know his opinion on it and I think I told him as much. It doesn't matter if you're wearing some pants that are long enough to wear it doesn't matter, but if you're wearing shorts...

My brother will wear black athletic socks sometimes. I guess a benefit is that you don't have to worry about them staying white. Just looks weird to me.

What is all of this about? :notsure

Ah, so you hide the white socks. So what do you do in summer then when you wear shorts?

I don't know :e3

Yeah, but I don't wear the long tube socks or anything. I actually don't even wear those in the winter time either. Maybe when it snows.
