I was being sarcastic. The obscene amount of money Angelos has already pocketed has barely gone to anything in the way of Free Agents. When MASN was in it's infancy he was saying how it would allow us to compete with the Yankees and Red Sox, and that was only done last season and not through conventional, AL East means.
I see. Smileys would have helped :oh

All goes back to Angelos using the team for personal income. It's a shame too. The Orioles should be busy trying to sign Adam Laroche away from us. A lefty pull hitter would be perfect for Camden Yards, not to mention the fact that he's a gold glove first baseman. Give him three years and he could be yours.

I enjoy the name Red Sox. Very meaningful and hip with the x.
The antiquated, 19th century nicknames are part of what makes baseball great. I wish more teams were named after foot wear.

This place lacks thorn recently. He brought a lot of sensible discussion to this thread.
Don't forget all the bear pics, he brought plenty of that too :^_^

Red Toenails would have been epic.

Also Red Underpants would be recommendable.

At one point the Boston National League team was called the Beaneaters :oh

They're now known as the Atlanta (by way of Boston and then Milwaukee) Braves.

At least names like Red Sox aren't commercialized names like New York Red Bulls (soccer) and similar names. I prefer traditional names no matter how ridiculous they may be. Then there's the non-traditional, pure ridiculous names like LA Galaxy (also soccer).

Do you have strange fetishes on Gary's phone? You asked the same questions like ten times before. :o
I just want to know what phone he has that'd make me jealous. If he answered my question, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Also Gary, if you take pictures with your iPad, you're a douche.

As long as advertising is kept far, far away from jersey's, teams can call themselves what they want. So far only the MLS sells advertising space on uniforms. Baseball would be the last sport in the world to do something like that.

He has a Galaxy S4 prototype. He's beta testing it for Samsung. It's better than your phone, and he's better than you. At everything. Oh, and please quite bragging about having an S3. It's the most popular phone on the market, having one does not make you special.

Oh yes, I'll get right on the phone to Dan Duquette!!!

Just passing by I guess...quick jab, my heart left in shambles, and she goes on with her metropolitan dream-life....sigh

It has a camera, so why?

That's what Soccer Clubs all over the world do, so it's nothing new to me. The Red Bulls are called the Red Bulls because RED BULL bought them from the league. MLS is pretty desperate to sell more teams to private owners and probably didn't care about what they named the team. It's not any worse than the MetroStars.

Because iPad isn't for taking pictures, I've seen people take pictures and they look like idiots. Not only that, but it makes it easier for thieves to steal it if you're gonna hold it up high above your head and take pictures. I could steal like, majority of the iPads that were used to take pictures.

-_-

What a pure sport.
Baseball coaches still use ornate hand signals to communicate with players. Umps are still not allowed whistles. And people wonder why limited instant replay is controversial.

Everyone knows sarcasm smileys must go at the end of a paragraph. Otherwise people may think that only part of the statement is sarcastic :-_-

When you talk to him, ask for free season tickets. Behind home base would be best :3c

That sounds like dialog from a cosmetics commercial.

Real Salt Lake is my favorite. As if Utah ever had royalty.

It has a camera. I generally don't take it anywhere with me. Nor would I take it to a place where it would be likely to be stolen.

I didn't write a paragraph, it was a sentence. Does that count?

So I can have a perfect view of Wieters in all his glory?

That's going with how they copied the naming conventions of foreign clubs - DC United, Real Salt Lake, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo (Should technically be Dynamo Houston), Sporting Kansas City, Chivas USA, and a couple teams have "FC" at the end of the name. This happens in other countries of course, but because there's a mixture of those and the classic, American "(City/State) _______s" it just sounds "off". I would have rather them name their teams the way Japanese League teams do, just cool-sounding company names - Kashiwa Reysol, Cerezo Osaka, Nagoya Grampus...it just sounds cooler to me. Though I doubt it would work as well with American/Western companies, so never mind -_-;

Real Salt Lake is lame, but I'm fine with DC United or FC Dallas. The most interesting parts of MLS for me was (or is, I don't know if this committee still exist) a special Disciplinary Committee. I rarely watch MLS teams.. only when they came to my country once (LA Galaxy) and when they have friendly matches with famous clubs from Europe. I personally think that their fouls are not really that harmful. I knew there was a bad precedent like Brian Mullan's infamous two-footed tackle, but besides that, they are just regular fouls. I don't see why it's a necessity to establish a new committee to oversee players.

Also.. I don't know Grampus Eight is a name of a famous company.

I think every major sports league here in the US has a disciplinary committee. Is that so foreign in other countries? The Brian Mullan incident was pretty awful. Soccer's system of discipline is sort of automatic through the use of yellow and red cards, but things that are particularly egregious shouldn't take things like red and yellow cards into account.

Yeah, guess I should have clarified :p. I know a lot of the baseball teams use company names, and assume most soccer teams over there did. Looks like it isn't though.

Good. And it having a camera doesn't mean it's for taking pictures all nilly-willy, since Apple would put that in to make it look better and justify the price.

They came out with that single version way later. Someone probably told him they needed another voice on it, too bad she sounds like a muppet ...or I'm just used to the original

Most tablets do, and there were tablets that had both forward and rear-facing cameras before Apple ever added one to the iPad. So again, you don't know what you're talking about.

Yes I do. iPad is still one of the most popular tablets, and widely used to take pictures.
