How was the steamed shrimp, cream of crab soup, and chicken wings ?

I didn't have enough room for the shrimp/onion/potatoes mix. I was tired and basically fell asleep on the couch. We sort of ruined the planning. My Dad and me were home all day cleaning and running errands, and we should have gotten the meal started earlier but didn't for some reason. My Mom got the crab meat from Venezuela and it had shells smashed up in it. On top of that, she used whole milk instead of light cream for some reason and it just didn't come out right. She wasn't even upset about reactions to it because she knew she screwed up. But that was our fault with bad planning.

I sort of gorged myself on the wings before anything else was done. My brother brought even MORE wings home from work since it was leftover, as well as some raw oysters and crab balls. So it wasn't a complete disaster. We haven't had dinner on Christmas or Thanksgiving for years for several reasons, so we never have any leftovers of that meal, or not a ton at least. So we'll at least have this hodgepodge 8)

Wow, that sounds like a pretty big bummer... But at least it sounds like the night was pretty decent despite the failures. Too bad about the crab meat, that sounds like it could have been delicious. I usually love crab. Enjoy the leftovers!

It still tasted good, I didn't mind the shells as much as my brother and Dad. It just wasn't Cream of Crab. I actually tend to prefer Maryland Crab soup anyways.
