How Can Brook Die?

Brooke will die if he is kept underwater forever or is sealed tightly with keroseki (or whatever).
Why? Cause his soul would leave his 'body'. The only way his soul would return to his body is if he is not underwater/etc.

Thus you'd have to keep him forever underwater for him to die. That's the way I see it. Of course he could literally be useless if his bones were all crushed since he wouldn't be able to do anything.

I don't think thats right the power of the fruit was to bring you back to life but if the power was to attach his soul to a body then it would always be in use then being under water would make his soul go away but his df power was already used up so its not the df thats keeping him alive its something else

- Drown him underwater (obvious one)
- Shatter every bone including his skull
- I wonder whether Law's DF ability would have an effect on Brooke?
- Cut by Hawks?
- Snap his spine? like Robin did to Spandem (even though he managed to survive by OP miracle lol)

As to how long he will live... I wonder if the Yomi Yomi no Mi (I need a good English name for that fruit) can be used multiple times. As in, if Brook is immortal. He did say in chapter 488 that he'd never died before, implying that it can be used multiple times. But unless someone kills him again, I don't think we'll find out. I do remember him saying something about coming to the end of his second life, though. And since Brook came back to life with a skeleton, instead of a full body, I don't think he can be killed, because his organs won't wear out or anything, because he doesn't have any. And it seems that his bones will last forever if he has enough milk. Unless the Yomi Yomi no Mi only provides you with another lifespan equal to your old one (your natural lifespan, not how long you lived), in which case Brook will die again, say, 90 years after he came back to life (it's been 47 so far). If it just brings you back to life permanently, and you won't die again except through old age, illness, a wound, or something like that, then it would seem that Brook is immortal, since those things can't affect a skeleton.

It only works once.

In the Japanese manga, Brook describes the power of the Yomi Yomi no Mi like this: 二度の人生を約束される。 (Nido no jinsei wo yakusokusareru.) Literally, this means something like "To be promised a second life."

Brook does seem a hell of a lot more resilient than a normal person. He was stabbed right through the skull by Ryuuma and didn't really seem that injured by it overall.

It's likely that Brrok can die of old age, since it's only a "second" life, not infinite life. And smashing him to pieces would probably work.

Arthritis is a disease that affects the ligaments in your joints, I think. Brook has no connective tissue (or any body tissue at all for that matter), and can't get arthritis because of that.

There is probably a limit to his regeneration, just as how he could not regenerate the scar from Ryumma. If you cut off his arm, he is likely to never regenerate it back. Also, Ryumma said he did not want to kill Brook as he would die too if Brook dies. That means, Brook can die due to being cut.

If you cut off his stomatch area, Brook will also be unable to regenerate.

The yami yami no mi has done it's job(returned him to life), it can do that just once... So yami yami no mi isn't in effect anymore(only that he is weakend by the sea and sea stone)...

And the sea nullify devil fruit powers and we have seen a couple of times when he fell in the water, when they pulled him out it was nothing wrong with him

Yeah, Satan-san clearly has a *bone* regeneration limit - it was clear in the fight against Ryumma! LOL taking away his daily cosumption of milk will probably cause decay in his bones *via the teeth down LOL * and make them even more fragile.....so anyone can make them shatter

Tbh though, if he did die in OP..I can only see him dying naturally..thus the cause being his DF ability, purpose and limit... but I hope he doesn't

The sea does not nullify Devil Fruit powers. We see this very clearly in the Arlong arc when Luffy is totally submerged and can still be stretched by Gen and Nojiko.

When a DF user falls into the water, they lose all their energy and basically pass out. That is all that happens.

^ They don't pass out, they just can't move their muscles on their own. DF users most likely die from drowning. DF users surely can hold their breath for 1-2 minutes before they get pulled out.

Since Brook's story showed that his DF allowed him to be a soul that could travel to find his own body, I think it will happen again when he dies, but this time he can't come back from 'heaven'. A simple way would be to crush his bones into powder.
Or when you shave his head and let him look in the mirror, he will die from shock and depression.

Actually I was thinking about that too. If OP ends, Brook will be the last living crew member who shares the story about how Luffy became the pirate king to the new generations

And I agree with some people here: make him stay away from milk (that includes Nami and Robin ), and then cut him to pieces
