How did Rin die?

I always had wonder how Rin died.Kakshi only mentioned the he couldn't protect her and blame himself for everything ,but never actually mentioned how she died.I want to know,because we know that she was alive after the faithful mission during The Third Great Ninja War,so is someone interested in that if she was killed who,how and why killed her:??
