About Roger's death, You have to take into account that Ace could have been born very late, around the winter months. And his mother Rouge gave birth to him around 20 months after she got pregnant.

In Logue town Smoker sayed that it was 22 years since Gol D. Rodger died, that means that Ace was 22 years old and Luffy 19, but so much time has past and you cant catch how much acuratly(only 2 years of training is known).

And we are not trying to confuse you, but Luffy wasn't born the Year when Roger died!

22 years - 20 months in a womb ~ 20 years and a couple months old. Luffy has his birthday five months later, meaning he will be one year younger for the first five months of the year, I'm sure some of you have siblings too... Ace could have been 20 or 21 when he was executed.

Where does it say that Roger was in prison for a year?
As far as I remember it was the crew that disbanded a year prior to the execution, not Roger being captured.

Anyways, you're right about Ace being born 15 months after Rogers death, so if we say that Roger was not in prison for a year it adds up.

Roger was executed in 1500.
Ace is born 15 months after that on January 1st (1502)
Roger must therefor have been executed in the fall of 1500.

Ace is 3 years older than Luffy.
January 1st, 1505 - Ace turns 3.
May, 1505 - Luffy is born. Ace is 3 years and 5 months.

21,7 years after Rogers death:
May, 1522 - Luffy is 17. Ace is 20 and 5 months.
Luffy is probably in Lougetown in June (21 years and about 8 months after Rogers death)
so it makes sense for Smoker to say that it's been 22 years.

During the MarineFord Arc the Luffy has been traveling for a bit longer, so the ages are:
Luffy - 17 years + a couple of months
Ace - 20 years and 5 months + a couple of months.

It adds up.

Also after the 2 year timeskip Luffy would be 19 + a couple of months and Ace is still 20 because he is.. well.. dead..

We shouldn't use those 15xx years, either. They're based off the Jaya arc, and while Oda says 1122 was about 400 years ago, he made Nami read log entries from the year 1120 while saying the log book - which spreads over an unknown timespan - is 400 years old.

To clear it up, in the first SBS of all (Volume 4) Oda revealed the character ages, which included Luffy being 17. Since two years passed after the timeskip, that makes him 19 now.

When Ace first appeared, Luffy explained that he was 3 years older than him, meaning that Ace was 20 years old. Ace's mother, Rouge, kept him in her womb for 20 months. Given a few months (since Ace wasn't exactly 20 years old) that makes a total of 22 years.

You meant Ace's age around his death, as Luffy is clearly only two and a bit years older than at the beginning,making him 19, if we can trust the official SBS.

Here you have a lot of die hard fans confirming mathemathical and with inverse talk how old they are.

SBS is always accurate as that's Oda himself answering questions about the manga and past chapters. But it's not only the SBS, it's dates and years stated in the manga.

You are wrong, read the wiki, the manga or any of the other posts like this one to get informed on the issue.

But again: chibi Luffy in the first chapter is seven, ten years later at the end of the chapter he is seventeen, than he journeys through the East Blue and Grandline, spending around a year or less there before the two year long time-skip started.

Wow, so Luffy is 5'4? I was always under the impression that he was 5'8. I think it would be cooler if Luffy were 20. It feels like a better age.
It feels strange that Hancock is so much older than Luffy. Someone should make a list of One Piece character ages now.

You were right initially then.
Luffy is 1.74m which is 5'8 to us Westerners.
Nami is basically 5'7.
Looking at those measurements, Zoro & Sanji are just under 6'0. Robin is like 6'2 and Usopp is 5'9 towards 5'10.
Since I've never had a friend who is 240cm for example I can't say Franky and Brook's heights since I have no idea where you rank height beyond the 2m mark lol.

The question had already been answered, but for all those who are still confused; after the crew reached the NW in the manga, vol.61's SBS had Oda list a revised bio of the crew, including their age and height. Here's a pic( from hoeru's post):

Even with the time that has elapsed since the timeskip, Luffy cannot be more than 19 and a few months old. At MOST; because simply, not that much time as passed and secondly if he was 20, it would be stated as such.
