Well idk in the UK but in Sweden the Green Party does not want to legalize all drugs, not at all actually... tho we are a part of many "programs" that plants trees, supports daycare centers for HIV-infected/affected kids, co-operate with the red cross etc. The green party in Sweden is also trying to encourage people to do as simple things as changing to low-energy lamps.

but only after there is substantial proof.
If you wait that long in the US, It'll be too late in Europe since we've already seen a lot of differences when it comes to climate, temperatures etc, Sweden have got a new flora and a way bigger multitude when it comes to animals/bugs because they can only live under certain temperatures and Sweden's climate have been warmer so they've moved here.

suxx big time

My issue isn't proof that the world is getting warmer - there is enough evidence to prove that it is. However, there isn't enough substantial evidence to support the claim that the increase in temperature is man-made. The world has always been gaining in temperature, individual of human technological achievements. Similarly, 'going green' seems to be more about making people feel good rather than having a measurable impact on the environment. We just don't know that much about what causes or fixes global warming.

Hm, as long as the Scientists aren't completely agree, I guess we can't be too sure...

But I'm rather safe than sorry... And yes I feel good by going green, even though It's not man-made I feel like contributing and even though I don't make a difference, if I = a lot of people, I will make a difference.
And let's say it's not man-made, fair enough, but we are still polluting, so if "mother earth" have released more pollutions than normally, then we have to cut down... since we can and she can't.

Hey! You got the best commercials! I became jealous when I saw the one from the Green party of England & Wales... And, do you know Carl Schlyter? He is sitting his 2nd mandate period in the EP now and he must be the best representative that a green party have sent to a parliament... of all time... he is the shit to be honest! Makes people wanna be a part and change...

But The Green party of England & Wales can't be that bad... really? They have the same "Green New Deal" as Sweden?

Annihilate all religion and religious groups indiscriminately until all of it is gone. Then peace will reign over the Earth. So long as there are differences among man kind, there will never be peace. Humanity is weak and powerless.

Ehh...the problem ain't about Religion or religious groups, if you want peace over the world, then either beat everyone into complete submission(military "peace") or eradicate all humans.

Humans aren't perfect, and even without religion, wars will continue and blood shed will follow.

If you think about it, Religion, in essence, gives us the boundary in which to live life(Don't kill, don't steal, don't rape, don't lie), and these make sense, because it hurts when someone lies to you, or steals from you(daily examples).

However, some people will use anything to have some kind of power of people: for example, the crusades weren't religious conquests, but the name of God and religion was used to make them.

As an answer to this thread:

Global Terrorism and Islamic Fundamentalism:
As Onomatopoeia said, as long as there is rich and poor country, there will be conflict between countries or groups, the name for these conflicts may be different, but they are always the same conflicts, for the same reasons.

You could say that the American revolution against the British is similar to what is happening in Iraq or Afghanistan: Different setting, different times, yet same motivation: one wants to control the other(either for more power and manpower, or for land resources), while the other wants to be free of the first's control.

Very bad comparison.
True, It was a very bad comparison, but it was to show that the reasons or excuses may change, but the end result (wanting power, control, independence, greed...etc)will never change

Global Terrorism? Islamic Fundamentalism? Iran? Afghanistan? Taliban? Al Qaieda? (sp?) (That and other potential crime-related problems with immigration)

These are some of the problems still posed to the world since 9/11, 7/7, the Madrid Train bombing, etc. How would you deal with it and what would you like to see done (Gov't policy, counter-terrorist measures, etc)?
There is no real getting rid of the bolded one's without resulting to extreme measures. But I'll get back to that.

As for Iran and Afghanistan, the problem is very complicated. Both of these countries, more so Afghanistan, are very poor have weak governements. No country will ever succeed without a strong governement of some kind.

Some type of reasonable gov. needs to be put into the countries for them to be stablef, which is being done now. To do that, again, is easier said than done. Getting rid of the Tailban is just the first problem. There is the Opium production which exists which if I'm not mistaken, produces 95% of the worlds heroin. The people of the country live in poverty, and there will always exist extremist groups who would kill anyone against theiir ideals.

The funny thing is, if the Middle East wasn't valuable (hint, hint oil), no one would care. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Middle East when Fossil Fuels become obselite. I'd imagine it would start to look like parts of Africa.

People hate on America for going in and trying to do some good, but if they didn't enter countries like Iraq, Iran, and Afganistan, no one would. Lunatics would be able to run free, and countries wouldn't be able to create new governements and infostructures to a certain degree. However, if the U.S. didn't enter these countries, a lot of lives, many innocent would not have died. But then again, perhaps the people that the U.S. killed would kill these innocents?

Overall, to fix Afganistan and Iran, someone needs to help the people who don't believe in killing everyone gain power. To do that though, they would have to use violent means, Via la Revolution? Once you kicked out the old powers, you would need to create a stable infostructure. Democracy, Communist, Socialist, Dictatorship, whatever, as long as the people in the country are better off than they are now, and the Government isn't as corrupt as it is now.

As for Islamic Fundementalism, well Fundementalism exists in every religion, and it's not relgions fault, there are just sick people out there. That won't stop until those people all die sad to say, so there is really no peaceful solution to solve Fundementalism because those people aren't looking for peace. If people gave into all of thier demands, they would be no better than slaves and robots.

Finally, there is Global Terrorism and Al Queda. These people don't care if they live or die, they believe sucide for the right reasons will grant them entrane to Paradise. How do you deal with that?

Some might not want to here it, but you have to become them, practice their beliefs, and do what they do to you, to them.

Torture will work, Ask any POW, some of the most hardass men on the planet made to cry for their mother because of torture.

If anyone has ever seen the movie Swordfish, you will know this quote, it's paraphrashed so bare with me.

"How do you stop terrorists? You make them so afraid to do what they do, that they will never think about doing it again. They kill 10 of your people. You kill 100 of their. They blow up a bus. You blow up a building. The bomb a building, you bomb a city."

The idea is to make terrorists so afraid of their consequences that they would never wish to do anything like it again. I'm not talking about bombing buildings to kill terrorists. I'm talking about leveling cities, leaving no survivors. Leave nothiing. You find their families and you kill them, you torture them, you do anything to break them. Do it in front of their faces if you have to.

Fear is a powerful tool that can be used against even the most brave of men. Killing them doesn't always do it, sometimes you have to kill what they love, kill what they fight for. Kill a thousands to save millions. Not a bad trade off if you ask me, it's quite rational.

But, if we become our enemy, become what we are fighting, what the hell are we fighting for? What's the point if we become the monster we swore to destroy?

But perhaps that sacrafice is neccessary. Perhaps a few must become monsters so that others can live in peace. Perhaps some innocents must die, so many others can live in peace. The answer is, is it neccessary? Is there a better way? I'm open to all intelligent ideas.
