I can't wait to see how this scene will be animated tonight. If this scene is done correctly, the episode will be an automatic 11/10

They should do it like they did this scene with the intense shading

Just show off some Zolydyck Estate Scenery and then BAM Gon all beaten up badly.

It's kinda how the manga seems to go. Basically you see Gon get hit twice and then you see Kalluto (I presume) spying on him and then there's a panel of trees
and then all of a sudden it's like WHAT HAPPENED TO GON!?

why no fat lip?

To be honest I'm really not sure why, I just don't see them including the fat lip. Maybe because it will difficult to make it look realistic and instead it would actually look quite funny (when I see characters with fat lips in cartoons they always look more funny than painful). We'll just have to wait and see when the episode is out.

Episode 23 was good...but not great.

I was rather disappointed by the first half. Half of the episode was filler with opening the gates and then they mess it up by having
all three open the gate when it originally was only supposed to be Leorio. That annoyed me because it was one of Leorio's big moments.

The extra scenes with Killua's mom were neat but not really needed. I'm guessing they are trying to extend this arc so that
Heavens Arena starts with the new opening?

But the moment of truth came with Canary.

While it wasn't as brutal looking as the manga it DID show Gon all beat up and Canary smacking him several times.

But man I was hoping we get to the next chapter in this episode. We would have if it weren't for the testing gate filler.

I give it an 7.5 out of 10

I would give it a 8 out of 10 if they didn't mess up the testing gate

and a 9 out of 10 if they didn't have all that filler.

BTW we get a sihoulette shot of the Zolydyck family early in the episode. Guess who's shown?

The scenery and colors looked beautiful in this weeks episode. As for my complaints... I usually never complain but almost half the episode was filler. Also Gon's face looked like a bloody train wreck in the manga in the anime... not so much. I'll have to rewatch the episode later but right now I'm kinda disappointed.

Zoldyck family silhouette and I spy Alluka

Is that the grandmother of the Zoldyck family? I thought there was a father of Zeno in the house? Which is it? Cool pic anyway. I don't mind the idea of fleshing out the testing gate, I really liked this arc in the old anime even if its way longer then it needed to be. But it worries me if they censored it too much or they took away the triumph that was Leorio opening two doors himself...Also at least 1999 had Mike filler.I haven't seen it yet so I'll make real judgements once I watch.

T--why is Miluki voiced by a woman now? And Canary's VA is known as someone who normally voices younger boys.

The Voice acting was good for this episode though. And I like the new character designs for Canary, Kalluto and Gotoh. Something about them is much more attractive than the 1999 anime.

Was that Kalluto during the preview or....Allu---naaaaaaah.

Yup, that's most likely the Grandmother. I wonder If it's Togashi's character design?

Apparently Zushi's VA has been decided already too.

Her name is Yuka Terasaki.

So...I guess it's been confirmed (Though did we really need confirmation?) that they will do heaven's arena.

Seems Madhouse is pretty far ahead then....I wonder how far?

Well, wasn't as good as I hoped but oh well.I was irked that all three of them opened the door instead of just leorio, the dude needs some scenes to be cool dammit he dosn't have a whole lot!! and gon's beat up look...well... not good enough.yeah he was hurt but that *HOLY SHIT, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO HIM!!* look isn't there. Guess they wanted to start trick tower off in its own episode instead of sharing it with the zyoldic arc, since had the first half not been filler, the second half of the next episode would have begun the arena arc.

on a plus side the visuals were spectacular, leorio and Kuripika looked epic when the apprentence asked them why they weren't helping.

meh 7/10, could have been better but oh well, they did their job nontheless.

Also another reason why the episode disappointed me. The preview tricked me!

They showed the mom and Kalluto walking down the hallway and I thought it would be the scene where Killua has the "icy cold glare".

But oh well. Next episode!

Trick Tower was during the Hunter Exam. It was where Lippo was the examiner.

The upcoming arc is Heaven's Arena aka Celestial Tower. It's not the same thing as Trick Tower.

Heaven's Arena=Nen Fighting Tournament
Trick Tower=Hunter Exam Stage involving a lot of mental puzzles. The idea of Trick Tower is to do what else but TRICK you.

Heaven's Arena is a place for nen fighter to fight. Like a fighting arena. Heavens because it's really tall.

I hope episode 24 isn't dragged out because their is only two chapter left in the Zoldyck arc. So If the next episode isn't dragged out we could possibly be starting Heavens Arena at episode 25.
