Anime Hunter X Hunter Anime- Fall 2011

Dam another week....

The best episode as of yet.

First, I'd like to note that this episode has covered the second half of chapter 46 and the whole chapter 47. A chapter and a half, but it was all talking and explaining and not a lot of action. There was little to no changes from the manga, so that's a point. There was one filler scene, but it wasn't that important.

Apart from the nen, I think this episode got a lot of great facial expressions. I spent most of the time capturing the faces more than anything else!

Spoiler: examples

The music was in its proper place and nothing seemed unfitting.

The 200th floor employee's design was excellent and looks better than the old version

Hisoka's entrance was much cooler than the manga. In the manga, we see his hand sticking out from behind the wall, but here he made a card out of thin air and the employee didn't notice that or him behind her back.

I liked the lines made by the pen on the board. It looks so realistic.

I liked this episode. I noted that there is two kind of background uses as Nen, and it changes colors mostly. Look at Wing. I kinda like that, actually. Reminded me all that shit about mood and auras.

I liked also how they animated this part:

It gives Nen a more physical appearance and influence that looks cool and I don't mind. Awesome.

And well, the gifs from usual.

And BTW, lighting was awesome this episode. Had that night feeling when it needed to. I'm re watching the episode for the music now :P

I do wonder what will happen when the series catches up to the manga? I know it won't be for awhile, but eventually it's going to outpace the release the manga.

If the releases were coherent it'd be no problem, Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...togashi.

The only thing I can see them doing is flashbacking like OP does at certian times.

Togashi has like a 150 weeks buffer. I don't think Togashi is so lazy he's going to let
the anime catch up and in any case I don't think the anime team is so stupid that they
are going to let it catch up anyways. Worst case scenario we are getting a lot of fillers.

But anywho I don't think Togashi will be taking such a long hiatus this time.

In fact I think the whole reason he took such a long hiatus last time is because
he was working on the anime, redrawing volumes, working on the movie and
maybe working on the game. Plus taking some R and R too. Add that all up
and it a over a year long hiatus makes sense.

But I don't see a repeat of the 1999 series happening again.

I hope you are right, but that really depends on how long this hiatus is, and how long until the next one.

So Naruto sometimes has "double" episodes where you get two eps in one night. Does anyone think something like that could ever happen with the new HxH? And if so, what chunk of chapters do you think would make for an amazing 2 parter episode? Just an idea I randomly had.

Nice episode this week, I enjoyed how they animated Wing's nen usage, and Hisoka's "nen wall" as well.
Also, "Mom, I'm on page 100 o/" (couldn't resist, sorry xD)

This week's episode was so damn good, I liked the them they played at the end of the episode when Wing was explaining the true Nen.

Did anyone notice Killua definitely seems taller then Gon this episode. Since people were complaining about Gon seeming as tall or taller then Killua earlier, I was looking out for it. I didn't really care, but I am glad to see it more obvious that Killua is older in the newest ep.

I don't know where people got that from. Most of the time I was paying attention to it, Killua seemed taller. Like in the first ED.

Anyway, on to the episode. It was... simply fantastic. It felt really nice paced, good musical choices. Little to comment on... I can only say it was solid in every way, specially in leaving the spectator craving for next week's episode.

Just to clarify...

Popo and Mr. Toto are the same person, yes?

and both (being the same person) are actually a girl despite the user name, correct?

And I do believe that Mr. Toto is the same Mr. Toto of the late Nexgear forums?

I ask this so that when I use the pronoun "her" you understand why if I am mistaken.


Anywho,

Since it seems that whenever Popo/Mr.Toto posts a comparison thread there is a bunch
of "heated arguments" ,to put it roughly, about her objectiveness on the subject and
it seems like while I would not say Popo/Mr. Toto is trying to avoid these objections
as she has indeed confronted them many times, it does seem like one beating a dead
horse. Anywho, I'm not here to judge the objectiveness or even truth of her comparisons.
Though I will say I very much appreciate the EFFORT behind them. Even if they were all
made up they at least seem to be carefully written and have been a great source of
discussion. Which in the long run ain't such a bad thing, now is it? So where am I going with this? Well you know the Hunter x Hunter wiki and how it could some updating?
Well my suggestion is that we take the comparisons from manga to either series
and edit the Hunter x Hunter wiki to make them known. We can try to stick to what
can be objectively known and compared so that there is little to no argument.
By that I mean if Gon kills Hisoka in Chapter 1 (he doesn't) in the manga but
in the 1999 anime he doesn't then we would point out that difference ( though
in this case it would be non existent. Of course we would only point out existing
differences)

So in summary, I propose we do what we can to post the differences in the
Hunter x Hunter wiki.
