Madhouse chose to show him in the latest episode instead of at the first episode.Kaito officially made his appearance in the first chapter of the manga.He rescued Gon and told him about Ging.That inspired Gon to become a hunter to look for his dad.Madhouse chose to leave out that part because the gap between his first and next appearance is large.So,they had to change Gon and Kaito meeting a bit.

The chimera ants are beast no doubt.But they are still the villains of this arc,so someone would defeat them.That's what I meant.

You said no one could defeat them.if you wrote no one could surpass them, it is true.

It is not that big of a deal for some of us. It made sense for madhouse to do that.

i think the change was a bit jarring. Because, essentially, Gon had his dad's hunter card, which was given to him by Kaito, right? the examiners even saw it after the exam when Gon fizzed out and they told him the story of that double-star hunter. (which madhouse chose to let Kaito tell Gon that story of the village that got saved which earned Ging the three-star level).

And madhouse made it like Gon and Kaito never truly remembered their first meeting as if it was just insignificant, when it was quite important and what jumpstarted the whole thing, wasn't it? The start of the anime was a bit fresh and unattached, when instead we ought to have seen how Gon was so close to animals with the bear scene. And what Kaito said that a good hunter is loved by animals- if that was established from the start, you kind of set Gon apart even before the exams and treat him as some kind of genius. But I didn't get that feeling at the start of 2011, just because of the Kaito scenes they skipped.

Well, we don't know. Togashi coloring is other on every cover/page. We see Kite with blue hair in 1 chapter, and with white hair on one of covers.
