He always was... We were simply wrong.

With what Nobu said recently we are seeing how great his ability is. Since Conjuration is the worst category for an Emitter he must have trained very hard but Emission and Conjuration are the two categories which can be used for abilities related to space.

Emission for marking, to open the portals and move things and he made the Nen Mansion + Master Key with Conjuration I guess. I don't remember if the master key is conjured, maybe not. Since the mansion itself has no special rules I guess the biggest feat for an Emitter like him is its size.

This reminds me of that moment when so many people got angry with Uvogin's kill, because of Kurapika's eyes granting him the ability to move across categories as a specialist. I couldn't understand it, because even though Kurapika might be 100% capable in every category, he's still bound by the limits of his own intelligence, connections to other characters and creativity.

I think of Hunter X Hunter as a world that explores the impossible as possible. It only has a few things that are truly set in stone, rules wise. To put it another way: "The rules apply to most of the characters, most of the time."

Just IMO, the story is more fun if Togashi breaks those expectations once in a while,. He's really not shy about doing that, either.

What I find funnier are the people who can't accept old headcanons like all white-haired Zoldycks being Transmuters and also stuff from the inaccurate data books. I only use it for minor stuff but even on the wiki they have some characters with two Nen Categories because of this.

For the Emperor Time reveal I mostly thought "Damn, that's broken" but with the concept of levels and stuff I didn't find it unreasonable. With that recent reveal about his lifespan I now believe the price to pay is too high.

Just since I'm always unsure if it was unclear: Emperor Time allows Kurapika to utilize all Nen types at 100% efficiency as a Conjurer.

I don't think he is only using Conjuration. Should be both Emission and Conjuration.

But for people using abilities not compatible with their categories I'd include Ikarugo. Living Dead Dolls definitely doesn't fit Enhancement. But he'll probably develop another ability working well with it.
