You think so? I think the beginning of HxH was very tender with the information it gave us.
It feld very plot driven. I mean, it was conveyed that hunters are awesome and there is a 'secret' organization with a very harsh initation test.
But that was about it for all the hunter exam, the rest wa sour protagonists fighting their way through the obstacles.

The first major worldbuilding stuff was in yorkshin when we got a lot of backround information about how the hunter world works, with all the mafia and crime.

Greed island, again, was mostly plot driven. It gave us some insight about how hunters use their time and what surreal feats (building GI) can be done with nen, but aside from that it was following gon and killuah (and biske) beating an mmorpg.

If we compare that to the situation we have no we are roughly 12 chapters into the new world arc and we are still basically in the exposition of all players and their different goals. and this just for the boatride TO the DC.

Honestly, when i read it at first, i felt kind of overwhelmed, i am not used to this from HxH.

But i guess when something gets that much buildup, it is gonna be good.

It still feels like togashi dished out more content in those few chapters than in 20 chapters in the early stages of HxH or other shonen manga.
...based on this it came across like you wanted an information overload in the beginning. Though I guess I might have misinterpreted what you said.

There's no confirmed time skip between Gon meeting his father and the beginning of the Dark Continent arc, as far as I know. So I don't think there's any reason to expect it.

DBZ takes place in different dimensions, this is all the same planet, I doubt there's a difference in time flow. But considering it's fiction, there's a number of ways to get back his powers. Who knows, he might end up wishing them back.

Speaking of which, since they have televisions and such in the HxH worlds, wouldn't they have figured out with satellites there's something more than this known world only? :o

Then they'd still notice something lmao

Then again, the large nations did sign a treaty of sorts which prohibits entrance to the outer world, so there's that. I just don't know why they don't go ahead and create large satellites or other recon things that could explore the outer world.

For example, can't they fly a plain or a blimp to the outer world?

Most likely they'd get killed by flying creatures, and we don't know exactly how the calamities work.

Truth be told, that would still be an interesting result. I'm talking about loading on cameras on the blimp (for example) and just sending it over to the new world - they don't have to take anything back (especially with the calamities, as you mentioned) since that could be dangerous.

You mean there's this enormous field covering the entire outer world, except for the habitable world which happens to fuck up electronics? I mean, it's possible of course, but I don't think it's likely.

Maybe no video material was taken because it could get into the wrong hands.

A book citing some myths won't stir any trouble, but if someone takes a video of that place he could convince at least some people that it really exists, and government does not want a panic.
