I like this comment by Togashi because
It shows he is not too stubborn to accept
help but that also he cares very much about
the quality of his manga Hunter x Hunter.
When people had asked before why didn't
Togashi just have someone else draw for
him, as an aspiring comic book artist, I don't
think they quite understand how difficult it
can be to get help when you are nobody
and you don't have any money so you got
to draw it all yourself and likely redraw too.
Then you finally get published and spend
years mastering your style and maybe you
make enough to hire assistants which you
pay out of your own pocket and sure they
may be great artists in their own right but
they might not "get" what your art is about
Or what you are trying to do and maybe they are not a good match or maybe they have to be taught. I dunno how it is. Or maybe you
yourself are trying to figure out your own
art. Or your own story. Ideas come easily
but are they good? Do they make sense?
What is the best way to showcase them?
I am glad Hunter x Hunter is back but I am
also glad that Togashi is glad it's back.
