Inspiration, most likely. Believe it or not, chimera ant's has ended almost a decade ago. Enough time to be a common source of inspiration to other mangaka's.

Don't compare Togashi to that lazy fuck. Togashi fucked up his back working on YYH. While G.G Martin loves the fame and money the TV show gave him. And well I think he's written himself into a corner with the Essos plotlines.

No I feel author's should be held to there words. Unless they died or have conditions that can't allow them to finish. That's why that Gerogo will always be a laughing stock and failure compared to Tolkien. Steven Erikson Malazan world is far more complicated than SoIaF yet he finished his 10 books main series. He's about to finish his 2nd/3rd books in the sequel. And he'll finally finish his prequel series after.

We are not discussing transactions. We are discussing a form of art. There is a relationship built here of a nature completely outside a heartless materialist mindset based on contract law. And an unfinished story left so simply because of lack of interest is very undeserving of that artform and the spirit behind it and the fans and admirers of that work.
