There may be an official translation for Lanchester's winning principle to focus on a single point. 負の側面 means "downside", but it may be good to use "negative" (i.e. negative aspect, or negative side that you sugged) to make it sound fomal.

Ah, of course, "downside"! Somehow, that word didn't occur to me, so I took it a little too literally.
