None so far, I did want to get the new KnY one (about the time-skip at the end of the series) and to start the Re: Zero one though. You keeping up with any LNs Revs?
No recommendations that I would characterize as romance anyway.None so far, I did want to get the new KnY one (about the time-skip at the end of the series) and to start the Re: Zero one though.
And you Jamms? Are there some you recommend too? Mostly romance ones.
ah right, name!Oh he looks so friendly!and the cutest too, does it have a name yet?
not yet, would you like to give it a name?
Adventure and fantasies is usually the second thing I like to read/watch the most so these are great so far.I'm a big time fan of the Danmachi novels which are just great. When one of those comes out they're my #1 priority. Pretty terrific romance there but the genre is mostly heroic fantasy. So not sure if that really qualifies. I also follow Overlord. Which is really well written dark fantasy but that one is definitely not for everybody. Certainly not romance. I'm about to dive into the Slime Tensei novels, so we'll see how that goes.
but dark fantasies are great, so I always wanted to try the anime a bit.Love advice from Great Duke is fantastic, I still read it but forget to post about it.Nothing really in the romance genre. The only romance series I'm really following right now is the manga you recommended and Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell, which continues to be just amazing. Plus like a million different harem romcoms.
Sorry Kiki-tan I took too long to reply this >.<ah right, name!not yet, would you like to give it a name?

The novels are a lot better. In particular because Bell is not as "shounen dumb" as he appears in the anime. In the anime I know he sort of comes off that way but that's because they always leave out the internal monologue of the characters for whatever reason. And that's something Fujino Omori uses quite a bit in fleshing out his characters.Adventure and fantasies is usually the second thing I like to read/watch the most so these are great so far.
I know Danmachi, watched the first season and the movie, not the biggest fan since I never take harems that seriously and this series kinda does sometimes, but Bell is cool and Hestia is too cute. Tbh probably the novel can make me more into the characters, will give it a try.
Overlord I saw so many memes about itbut dark fantasies are great, so I always wanted to try the anime a bit.
It's on my "One day I'll read it." list.Love advice from Great Duke is fantastic, I still read it but forget to post about it.
Lately I have been reading nothing but slice of lifes that are comedies and/or romances too, hope that you check Komi-san someday? I think I spammed you about it before.![]()
cute backstory revo-pinSorry Kiki-tan I took too long to reply this >.<
How are you and the little one going?
Did you put a name already? When I saw it in the pics the name "Harry" came to my mind, because of a Gorillaz song that has a cute little lizard with a hat on it.
, but harry was gone
it disappeared days before we started rebuilding the yard. but I can see it found a new house
after all there are so many lizards around in the neighborhood these days (idk why suddenly they are so many
)
Tempts me to try the novel, because I liked Bell or at least the concept of him but yeah, basically the anime made me see him as your typical shonen/harem main character. Still most of times anime adaptations of LNs reduce the important points of the characters and plot too much, I feel that it kinda explains Emilia's problem in the anime of Re:Zero. The novels are a lot better. In particular because Bell is not as "shounen dumb" as he appears in the anime. Like I don't know if you remember the part in the anime with Lily. Where she betrays and then is saved by Bell. In the anime it seems like he was just oblivious. In the books he knows something is going on with her from the start. Which makes the story better because he's not getting tricked really. He doesn't know the exact situation or anything but he recognizes something is going on there and wants to help. There are a lot of moments like that where characters in general "think more".
Loved the character design as soon as I saw it, also the art style, the plot sounds too, so unique even for an isekaiOverlord is sort of a strange beast. It's one of my favorites but I'm continuously shocked that it's become as popular as it has. I've come to realize I can't even guess if somebody is going to like it or not because it's just so different.
It's about a lonely awkward guy whose friends have drifted away from the game and him as they've grown up and moved on with their lives and the evil monster role playing MMO guild and all the custom designed NPCs they left behind who become self aware and get isekai'd together into like Dragon Age or Game of Thrones. It's epic fantasy featuring a bunch of supervillains who aren't accustomed to free will. And a guy, who isn't the most well adjusted person to begin with, who doesn't know what to do with any of it.
It's such a specific and unique niche that I really never would have guessed so many people would be into.
reminds me a bit of Katarina.Oh...cute backstory revo-pin, but harry was gone

is the pet debate still going?![]()

I'm a bit sympathetic to them in some ways because it's all internal monologue. How do you do that in anime? In written form it's easy you just write it in italics.Tempts me to try the novel, because I liked Bell or at least the concept of him but yeah, basically the anime made me see him as your typical shonen/harem main character. Still most of times anime adaptations of LNs reduce the important points of the characters and plot too much, I feel that it kinda explains Emilia's problem in the anime of Re:Zero.
As of the last 2 books Ryuu. The story involving her is my favorite in the series. Lily is up there though. She has a nice character arc. That's another thing I enjoy. There is a dramatic character arc for everybody. Hestia is the only one who remains the same but even with her it becomes increasingly apparent why she's actually a better god than somebody like Loki or Hermes.Llily was a cutie though, do you have a favorite girl in DanMachi?
I can't wait for another season of Katarina. She might be the best harem protagnist of all time.Loved the character design as soon as I saw it, also the art style, the plot sounds too, so unique even for an isekaireminds me a bit of Katarina.
^ this kinda happened with me with the TPN anime, have you checked it? When LNs and mangas have too much monologues or inner thoughts that are very important to follow, you know the anime will have to summarize or just skip it, because you can't make a whole episode of just that (I'm a bit sympathetic to them in some ways because it's all internal monologue. How do you do that in anime? In written form it's easy you just write it in italics.
It's just an incompatibility between anime and LNs, I think. Which is probably that same Re:Zero problem. Like Bell very much acts like your typical vanilla shounen protag of the outside, and Ais seems emotionless most of the time, so that's what comes across. But what makes them both interesting is why they do that. Internally Bell never actually believes that things are going to work out. He just knows what the heroes in books his grandfather read him would have done and wants to be like them.
Did the anime ever mention who his grandfather was? Because that's also very relevant to understanding
).
but I think they mentioned it pretty simple.
Lili was always a fave of mine in general, that Ryuu comment makes me want to check them even more >.<As of the last 2 books Ryuu. The story involving her is my favorite in the series. My favorite ship though isn't actually Bell related. It's something the anime skipped involving Welf and Hephaestus. That's gold and it's a shame they left that out.
Checked the manga a long time ago and laughed with the few chapters I read.I can't wait for another season of Katarina. She might be the best harem protagnist of all time.
Very briefly. TPN is really not my thing. That art style. The setting. The plotline. It just really wasn't for me.^ this kinda happened with me with the TPN anime, have you checked it? When LNs and mangas have too much monologues or inner thoughts that are very important to follow, you know the anime will have to summarize or just skip it, because you can't make a whole episode of just that ().
I read most of Bell's story via spoiler so can't remember if the anime took time to explain itbut I think they mentioned it pretty simple.
This is random but I started DanMachi mainly because Bell reminded me a bit of Allen Waller when I saw him.![]()
You should. The Ryuu books are amazing. The reveal of who all the waitresses are is pretty great too. As you'd expect none of them are normal but all of them are awesome.Lili was always a fave of mine in general, that Ryuu comment makes me want to check them even more >.<
Hestia is an easy pick for me but I wish we saw somw grow for her a bit more, always shipped her with Bell but I know things are learning more into Aiz's side.
Wait are Hepha and Welf canon??? Can't believe they took it away, now i'm really curious.
If there wasn't another season coming I'd already be reading the novels. Just the way her mind works is magical.Checked the manga a long time ago and laughed with the few chapters I read.
It seems to be hilarious, gonna try catch up and see if she can change my mind about Haruhi (Ouran) being the queen of reverse harems.

Ooooh are you following D. Gray Man? I think we never talked about it, Allen and Ed are both my most favorite male characters, alongside Zoro.I could see the Alan Walker comparison. For what it's worth I only read D Grey-man because Alan Walker reminded me of Edward Elric. Not sure that comparison really held up but it got me reading a good series so no complaints.
Sadly not the first time an anime adaptation skips an entire plot or arc, hopefully they give them attention if a new season is out.You should. The Ryuu books are amazing. The reveal of who all the waitresses are is pretty great too. As you'd expect none of them are normal but all of them are awesome.
And I can't believe they took away the Welf stuff either. There is a whole book that is an romance story anthology. The only one they kept is worst of like seven of them. the Aiz centirc one where Hestia get's kidnapped. Not only are they canon, the Hepha romance is the driving force behind why Welf is obsessed to being a better smith. Helpha is super cute about it too. Suffice it to say there is some major gap moe going on there.
Hestia will get a bit of chance to shine in the upcoming anime.
The way they project her mind debating with herself, the manga gave me a good laugh with that.If there wasn't another season coming I'd already be reading the novels. Just the way her mind works is magical.![]()

Not recently. Sort of lost track of it during it's haitus period. But I was pretty into it until it got to that point.Ooooh are you following D. Gray Man? I think we never talked about it, Allen and Ed are both my most favorite male characters, alongside Zoro.
It's got a great cast all around. At least the anime did. She's the glue that holds it all together though just watching that character is extremely entertaining. The way they project her mind debating with herself, the manga gave me a good laugh with that.![]()
Didn't know about thisafter Choco and Lennon being gone and Regal being outcast by another alpha
did they leave and never came back? What a baby!![]()
