I think you'll love it.

Though I should probably warn you, it looks short because it's only like 28 chapters. But each of those chapters is like 80+ pages long. So it's not as quick a read as you might expect.
Checked the first chapter and it's good! Was looking for something new to read since lately I'm following mostly silce of life and comedy mangas.
Will let you know more of my thoughts when I read more.
What else can I say? These days I just lurk in the Boruto section occsaionally to see what's going on without having to suffer through reading it and... :emocat
Ugh, I don't even check it but a friend of mine does and always let's me know the 'new events' around there, glad that I don't read. :sweat
I find the sequel inconsistent with the main series too, outside of the new pairings and kids.
@revo I never gave you advice, but it's time to give you a good advice: ignore the Noblesse anime, really, just read the manhwa, it's more chapters, it's slower, the ending might disappoint you, but nothing disappointed me more than watching the anime with expectations it would be good and seeing them just butcher both story, characters and kill the possibility of a continuation... :emocat

I know they had to fit in the best parts of the manhwa, but for that, they basically killed the story that happens before it reaches that part and sometimes, if you don't know the story of the manhwa, it will not make sense, it starts very bad when you notice the 1st episode of the anime must be watched after the OVA they made some time ago... I'm sorry, the salt for Noblesse anime is big :pjsalt:fail Not only that but they decided to put in some things that do not make sense until very later in the plot while not explaining other stuff that could have been helpful @Jammin yes,
I simply can't accept they killed Crombell, the Union and still put Urokai appearing for no reason, without even explaining anything, Gry thought Urokai is a random vampire because it looked so random what they did!
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I had to stop episodes many times while watching it with Gry because he could not understand certain things and they did not bother to explain them either, because why? Just put that cute vampire and comedy scenes and people will love it! :cookiestare

Yeah, very disappointed. I know they tried to make characters as close as possible to the webtoon, but then they decide to change it in the end... And change the lord's an important character's development

I strongly advice to stay away from the anime and just go for the webtoon.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

The ending of webtoon is meh, but still way better than the anime
There are a lot of series that got awful anime adaptations, so I understand. :emocat

Many sites said Noblesse got the worst ending ever, for what I saw? I still can read it with low expectations in the last arc. The anime also got a pretty terrible reputation for those who didn't even read the webtoon, which is a shame because usually these bad animations scare new readers away.

I will follow your advice and start the webtoon then. ^^

I'd love to hear them.

It's a manga I enjoyed quite a lot not only for the romance stuff but because you've got this amazing character in Sheila who is just very compelling. At the beginning of the story you know, and she knows, that she's crossed the moral event horizon. Which made for really effective drama. Because you have this character that is strong enough to kill anything but also afraid of what she'll have to do if her identity is discovered. That sense of tension really worked for me. An OP character, whose strength is more or less meaningless in confronting what she's facing with.

:hug

Kinda reminds me of my talk of Danmachi with Jamms, and how different Bell is sometimes from the anime.
:hug

Yeah, it seems protagonists always suffer from this the most :XD Reminds me of Shirou, who you get a LOT more insight of in the VN. You don't have to like him, but it's a lot easier to understand him and where he's coming from.

Yes it was... weird, but good that one of my first ones was so serious. :XD
But my very first anime was Inuyasha, if I recall, and FMA 2003.
Pretty interesting first anime haha xD Did you never watch any of the kids shows, like Pokemon/Digimon or Sailor Moon or something?
Never, but saw videos about the playing. :sweatbunny (pretty sad yes).

I love Chiaki, Kirigiri and Nagito too <3 also Fukawa, Chihiro, Togami and Hinata. :nod
How come you read 1 but never checked out 2? It was a lot better than 1 in my eyes.

Fukawa is a bit too crazy in the head for me :sweat Chihiro I just found unimpressive, but Togami and Hinata are good yes :nod

Hahaha I think I loved it for the good showing of how Southamerica is, and it was an actual interesting trainig arc that went straight to the point, but I can see why others didn't like it as well.
True, you don't see Southamerica being covered all that often in manga, so it must've been especially nice for you! I liked it as well too, a training arc just never gets as much highlights as the actual matches, which is natural xD

Ooh I remember~
Personally I really like slices of life, and romances that are made on that genere more than in action series, so you will see me reading many random stuff. :XD

Isn't that Fate cooking a slice of life too?:0 Is it one of the few ones you really liked?
Yeah I figured you like them the most xD It's not a bad genre at all, I just find I get bored of a lot of them after a while (like, too much padding and going in circles), though ofc some are made to be like this, the feel good shows : D

Yup it's slice of life, but it worked really well for me. Sometimes that comfy feel is just what you need, and if it's a good Fate adaptation, all the better :3
If I had to name some of my favs... Hinamatsuri (with a good heap of comedy), Mushishi (not sure if it counts, but really enjoyed the atmosphere of this one), Hanasaku Iroha, Kanojo to Kanojo to Neko: Everything Flows (short and sweet, I like that kind of series), Usagi Drop (the anime, I've heard some not so good things for the manga), K-On (a classic, the movie was really nice too), and ofc Emiya Gohan :XD

Yes!! I remember on these campaigns I wrote for the Manga Wars I used a lot of Kenma's pages and lines from that match, because his development and panels were both moving and epic. That last panel of him with a big smile telling Kuroo that in the end he really likes to play made me smile and tear up a bit. No wonder he's one of my favorites too hahaha.
Exactly, probably among my top moments in the whole manga. Didn't really care too much about Kenma before, but really started liking him during this match. Can't wait too see this in the anime, it's going to be amazing :zomg

By the way, I know your set is of Tsukihime (stunning btw!), but I can't help but see the signature slighty as Haibara and Conan. :XD
lol yeah I can see the similarities :XD Last time I watched Conan probably was around 10 to 15 years ago lol, but I still see some good fanart from time to time. I am curious what the end will be like haha, please keep me updated ;)

Also I take it you did see the new Tsukihime trailer too, right? I remember showing Marmy the trailer, but not sure if you've seen it too :sweatdrop

Say, revo

Do you think maybe the latest higurashi episodes are called cat-deceiving chapters because of Bernkastel? I remember that there was a Nekodamashi Hen during the old anime, but it has absolutely no connection with Gou it seems, so I was wondering if it could peeeeerhaps be related to Umi haha

Also feels obvious that Rika is getting targeted on purpose, for one reason or another...

Will also tag @MarmaladeSky and @Purity of Magi :popcorn

Funny, I just legit wrote a tweet 1hr ago to ask my followers how the anime currently is since I have yet to catch up with a lot of episodes lol. Your comment and their comments (and other tweets I have seen related to your spoiler tag) might be my push to continue it.

The latest episode has been quite something, to say the least... :XD Still not quite sure how to feel about this, probably can be better judged in hindsight. That being said

I think they did sorta delivered with the gore this time @revo lol
Honestly it made me think of our resident "intellectual rapist" Furudo Erika, but I guess any witch would enjoy beating down Rika to the max :emobirb That moment when she's all happy but gets betrayed by Akasaka of all people :feelsbadman

Oh revs. Yashahime is so bad. I'm not fully caught up yet. Got to the end of the last season though and it's just terrible. Like I'm trying to hype myself up and focusing on the positive but the only one I can come up with is that I like the music and that ending theme.

Everything else just seems so uninspired. It's not even like generic shounen level. Because generic shounen would be better than this. It's honestly a bit hard for me to believe that Rumiko actually wrote it.

I'm actually neutral towards him :Haha yeah in the animes I disliked him a bit but the VNs far made me me feel alright with him.
Also 90% of times I'm just doing a meme out of my salt of Edward losing against him, so don't worry xD.
Pretty interesting first anime haha xD Did you never watch any of the kids shows, like Pokemon/Digimon or Sailor Moon or something?
Sailor Moon I watched it when I started to get into anime in general, they barely showed it here when I was little honestly, wasn't as popular as years before.
Pokemon and Digimon I never watched it, nor played (kelly and bjorn have exploded about it already), the only thing at that time I watched and played was Yu-gi-Oh :lmao
Which were your firsts? Pokemon and Digimon?
How come you read 1 but never checked out 2? It was a lot better than 1 in my eyes.

Fukawa is a bit too crazy in the head for me :sweat Chihiro I just found unimpressive, but Togami and Hinata are good yes :nod
Oh because it was always difficult to me play games in general, as I always had to ask a friend or something. :sweat
I do know the 2, but had to see it in screenshots and spoilers, instead of playing it (aka what I do with most videogames).

Fukawa can be too much sometimes yeah :lmao but I have thing for crazy characters.

Tbh I love seinens a lot too for example, shonens as well, but I guess slices of life are just easier and more comfy to follow and I like that a lot. :nod
It depends too, as there can be very bad shonens, seinens, shojos, etc there are also very bad slices of life.

I think I saw some Shirou x Saber things in it xD they look more relaxed and cuter, so I might try it out (even if they're not in my favorite couples of Fate, I do prefer Shirou with Saber, then Sakura, not a big fan of him with Rin).

Mushishi! Yeah I love it. :zomg It can be count as a "dark" slice of life, as the feeling isn't supposed to be comfy hahahaha.
Hinamatsuri is on my must-watch list, the rest I need to check them and yeah, Usagi Drop is a trauma in the manga, even Erin-chan hated it if I remember well.
Exactly, probably among my top moments in the whole manga. Didn't really care too much about Kenma before, but really started liking him during this match. Can't wait too see this in the anime, it's going to be amazing :zomg
Right! I feel he's one of the most changed in the manga, and I found out getting more interested in his playstyle, I used to be into him because of his personality and everything, but wasn't one of the characters that hyped me when he played (unlike Kuroo, for example), but in that final match he won me over.
lol yeah I can see the similarities :XD Last time I watched Conan probably was around 10 to 15 years ago lol, but I still see some good fanart from time to time. I am curious what the end will be like haha, please keep me updated ;)

Ooh for somere reason I thought you still followed it. :sweatbunny
But sure! After more than 1000 chapters it's finally getting on the final arc, let's see how much years it will take now.

And I thiiink I checked it, but going to rewatch it just in case, will definetly follow it once it's out!

About this:
I think you remember the Aurora's shadow in the opening? And the mansion. I feel that with this remake they want to show in a stronger way to bounds with Umineko, which I think it's necessary lol.
I highly doubt they will tell names from Umi's characters, but I think this is very interesting, this isn't an Umineko anime, but I'm glad to see it out in an adaptation. :zomg
Everyime I watch this I feel so comfy :blushbirb thank you Kiki-tan.

Slowly watching more and more minutes of each episodes...

It's like, the more explications they give, with more random characters, the worse it is. Doesn't help that the original cast is so out of character, watching Kagome and Sango makes me sad, they do NOTHING, they just see Sesshomaru taking the babies and screwing all things over and do nothing, originally they all woul be fighting by the end.

The Rin reveal is awful, just awful, I used to think I would be neutral towards this but I was so wrong. Now go re read all the manga, the interactions between them, it's so purely father-daugter relationship, I just can't seee Seshhomaru falling in love in... these times. A lot argue that Rin is a teenager now and whatever, but in the end, are they really going to show their story? Rin is gonna have the same fate as Sakura or Orihime or most shonen girls, to become the mom of the kids and not even a wife, or a proper love interest. All of this is juts sad to see.

Also why does she even still call him "Sesshomaru-sama"? Gives me SasuSaku vibes where their relatinship never changed even after married.

Sunrise (the studio) is the main creator of this series, and the plot and characters... BUT Rumiko always reads the episodes and she approves what she likes and what not, so basically, all awful stuff we have been watching were given an "I like it" from Takahashi. My heart is broken.

It's rough. It's really rough.

And I don't think spoiler tags are necessary at this point. Nobody but us could or should ever watch this anime. You can't spoil something that's rotten to the core.

To echo your thoughts about Rin. Did you see the way they interacted after she give birth to his kids? It was like they'd never met before. He raised her since she was 8 years old. :bored

And poor Miroku and Sango. In what universe does the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome not get raised by them? The two most family oriented characters in the entire series. In what bizzaro universe do they send their daughter of to Koga instead. Freaking Koga?! No goddamn way! If this anime was going to do the missing parents thing, Miroku and Sango have to be the parental figures. That's how it must be! And where the hell are Koga and Ayame anyway?!

Also did you notice that they have a major villain voiced by none other than Maaya Sakamoto and yet they give her Zero to do (pun intended).

It's just an endless rabbit hole of things to ruin our nostalgia and drive me out of my mind.

Random Magi appear, but just gonna say:

Yashahime is absolute thrash. The story is basically some weird recycle of the main plot with papa Sesshomaru being the ''focus'' this time, but billion times worse. To add the cherry on the cake, the latest episode was probably the cringest shit I have seen so far this week.

Anyway, where it belongs:

True, is mere habit, to think I imagined this to have hype and popularity... :emocat

(Wall of text incoming):

One would imagine their relationship would be so different, I mean, they having a relationship already gives the bad vibes, if you really are gonna pair them at least give them a different interaction or relationship. That small interaction was like Rin when she was little rofl.

Here's the thing: Ayame never existed in the manga, but in the anime, they invented her to give Koga something else than to be the comedic guy who gets between Inuyasha and Kagome (though, the anime also always ignored his interesting own conflicts with Naraku which is a shame). Their story was cute and good, and they make them marry in the end. So what's the point of making a sequel that is "semi-canon" and "anime only" if you aren't even gonna remember her? SHe was there so Koga wouldn't have such a sad life compared to the rest, and you make him take care of the main couple's child? What was the point of all these filler episodes and arcs of him then? Why make it if you aren't gonna add it to his character?

He was my favorite, alongside Kikyo and some few, but all of them got forgotten and even more by this studio. Also at this point not even Rumiko knows if this sequel is 100% canon or not, because it contradicts stuff of both the manga and the anime, this just feels like a whole different and new series.

And good one, :lmao
Tbh Zero is so bland, like I couldn't care less about her, again I say that Naraku was always impossible to surpass when it comes to antagonist quality. But come on, Inuyasha had other really cool villians and so did the rest of Takahashi's works, it wasn't impossible to make someone interesting.

But this also points how unnecessary this sequel was, I know it was for fanservice and nostalgia, but at this point Rumiko is making many mistakes because she's ruining her own writing for the sake of it. They could have done an ova, or a movie even; a series like this is pointless and a mess because Inuyasha never needed a continuation, absolutely everythnig and everyone had their own good conclusion, even Sesshomaru and Rin, Koga too in the manga and in the anime even if they were separated endings. Kikyo was supposed to be absolutely gone, yet they like to show her ghost or whatever. Sango and Miroku got their happy and chill life, same with Inuyasha and Kagome.

Yashahime took all of that away, and made conficts and plots just for the sake of having material, even if it makes no sense. I'm really gonna pretend this never existed (but yes like you said, I'm gonna watch this anyways too lmao).

Still waiting for your list by the way <_>:handgun

Could not agree more. This should never have existed in the first place.

I think what bothers me most, and what will continue to bother me going forward, is that they managed to mishandled every single thing in this show. Every bit of it. There isn't one narrative thing that I honestly believe that handled "well". Not one thing. How? How did they manage that?

---------------------------------

As for my list, it's too difficult a question for me. Top 10 Favorite Art?

I'm not used to thinking of it like that. Like take Berserk for example, the series that will presumably take the #1 spot, I don't actually like the way Berserk looks. It's technically incredibly impressive. But not something I found pleasant to look at. Which is often the case with the really impressive detail work. Like Gantz looked amazing, it was a miserable manga.

I mean, I'd be making the case for Bleach and Kubo for the six thousandth time but beyond that I'm not sure what I'd even put on there.

It's just that they took everything good about every character and old plots and tried to use them, and then re-invent a lot of stuff that was already made in the original series and far better made. This doesn't even feel like an Inuyasha plot at all as well, even the modern world is so weird, with Kagome there it was fun to see and Inuyasha's interactions, but they changed everyone so much the nostalgia just can't work.

This sequel goes to my list of things I forever cry and rage about.

Oh you don't have to send if you don't want Jamms. :XD

The theme is rather simple and what you said, it's mangas you think that have pretty/beautiful/awesome/epic art, it's very subjective, you just go by mangas you think that have the drawings you like the most. And it doesn't have to be Berserk, if you think it's impressive but you don't like looking at it, or find the art style pretty or good, then it's not something to put on a list. Again, the theme can be very subjetive, but you don't have to play if you don't want to just messing around with you too. :nod

Ok, silver linings. Trying to think about things about Yashahime that aren't the ruination of all that's good in the world. Which, admittedly, it mostly is.

First silver lining, I liked the Papa Sota thing. I genuinely enjoyed that part. So one episode of "not-misery" for me there.

Second silver lining, those EDs have been on point. And Setsuna's violin piece, though short, is also highly enjoyable. That plus the good reuse of Inuyasha's OST is pretty nice to hear.

Third silver lining... sorry that's all I've got. Can you come up with anything?-_-;

I'm actually neutral towards him :Haha yeah in the animes I disliked him a bit but the VNs far made me me feel alright with him.
Also 90% of times I'm just doing a meme out of my salt of Edward losing against him, so don't worry xD.
oh I was talking in general, wasn't supposed to be a jab at you or something haha
Good to hear you feel a bit better about him now, though xD still surprised he managed to beat Edward tbh lol

Ah right, I'm forgetting that you're some years younger than me :XD then I guess it only makes sense you started with other stuff, though I guess something like Naruto would be the more obvious pick compared to Higu
Oh you watched AND played Yugioh? Really liked the anime for a time when it aired, but besides buying a single deck I never really got into that 😂
A good question, Digimon must've been among my first. Though at the time RTLII (basically the kids station) really aired a lot of anime, so almost everyone here was at least watching one during their kid years haha (without realizing ofc). Hard to say what was my very first, but I thiiink either Digimon, Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne or DoReMi... probably am forgetting something xD

Oh because it was always difficult to me play games in general, as I always had to ask a friend or something. :sweat
I do know the 2, but had to see it in screenshots and spoilers, instead of playing it (aka what I do with most videogames).
True, you never had it easy getting games :sweatdrop How come you never got a console or handheld or something? Could your family not afford it at the time? And I mean all Danganronpa games are on steam, so they're easy to get :3

Fukawa can be too much sometimes yeah :lmao but I have thing for crazy characters.
Oh yeah, I realized :3 Crazy characters can be really entertaining for sure, but the ones who go totally huehuehue I'm CRAZY (like Fukawa and her being all manic with her long tongue lol) usually are hit or miss for me.

Tbh I love seinens a lot too for example, shonens as well, but I guess slices of life are just easier and more comfy to follow and I like that a lot. :nod
It depends too, as there can be very bad shonens, seinens, shojos, etc there are also very bad slices of life.
Mhmm I get that :nod There's some good stuff among all genres for sure, but I think I only managed to finish two Shojo ever... think it was tonari no kaibutsu-kun and ao haru ride thanks to the anime and a relatively short manga run for both.
Much more of a seinen and shounen guy, though surprisingly in the last few years I'm leaning more toward shounen xD

I think I saw some Shirou x Saber things in it xD they look more relaxed and cuter, so I might try it out (even if they're not in my favorite couples of Fate, I do prefer Shirou with Saber, then Sakura, not a big fan of him with Rin).
oh there's a lot of different scenes and characters, so I wouldn't really worried. Almost all main Fate characters appear, think you'll like this one for sure :nod
And for me Shirou x Sakura probably is number 1 for various reasons (like how they both ended up broken bc of their childhood, they deserve that happiness) but Shirou x Saber comes close for me. I'm the same that I'm not exactly the biggest Shirou x Rin fan, but Rin always has been my least favourite Fate heroine anyway.

Yeah, Mushishi is more on the dark side alright :XD But it was a really interesting show
Hinamatsuri is really funny, you'll like it 😂
Ooh for somere reason I thought you still followed it. :sweatbunny
But sure! After more than 1000 chapters it's finally getting on the final arc, let's see how much years it will take now.
Maybe because of Sky haha, but I've only watched Conan once during our flight back XD think that was movie 18 or something? I have no idea lol, but it was quite fun after not having watched Conan since I was a teen.

And I thiiink I checked it, but going to rewatch it just in case, will definetly follow it once it's out!
Here, let me help you~

:zomg
I think the mansion is actually the St Lucia Academy, saw some comparisons with the VN and it seems to fit (but ofc we don't know for sure). Almost everyone's waiting for that Umineko connection I feel, but I try to keep my hopes low tbh :XD I really hope it does though, next ep should give us a good idea where it's going :3

Really sorry for the late reply Jamms :emocat

Have been thinknig about it thouggh, and need to watch the latest episode (with some alcoholic drink in hand). I do think the music is spot on, not as much as the original Inuyasha's soundtrack that was fantastic, but like so say the OP/ED are great (especially the OP for me).

The modern era is alright, Sota being actually used is what made me happy, like you said, Kagome's family was kinda always forgotten by Takahashi, and used only for comedic and silce of life reasons instead of being more presented in Kagome and the plot. In fact, Sota's reaction to everything in the actual sequel is more realistic that how him, his mom and grandfather used to be with Kagome traveling in time.

And this is where you will disagree with he me probably, but I like Moroha. Yes the idea of her being abandoned is terrible and bad writting, but I feel that is a very good concept of Inuyasha's and Kagome's child. She really is their daugher, from the apparence to the personality, and is an actual fun and interesting character to watch just like her parents were. Of course she's not that great, but I feel that she's a victim of the terrible writing of the show, regardless of that she would be better in an old series of Takahashi. I also appreciate her like this because Towa is extremely boring to me for some reason, and Setsuna is fine but she feels like some sort of a less emo Kikyo. Dunno, this new cast doesn't feel like to have the same vibes and writing of the typical Inuyasha characters, and even the non-canon movies of Inuyasha had new characters that were actually great, very sad.
