So, I've been consistently bothered by some things in SnK which are never really explained. Yes, I know its a manga and not everything needs a 100% explanation, but still, some things bother me and I wanted other people's opinions.
- There's not enough "gas."
Those small cylinders of gas Soldiers wear wouldn't do much to help propel humans. The only way I can see them being useful is if there was some internal combustion in the 3DMG. There's no mention of this to date.
- How do the sword handle triggers operate?
Clearly, the action of pulling a trigger leads to reeling of 3DMG, and shooting of it as well, but to do so without fancy electronics, the triggers would have to operate manual pulleys or hydraulics. Either way, it would be hard to maintain flexible lines from sword to 3DMG unless they were electrical wires (imo).
- Basically impossible to shoot 3DMG from hip and be accurate.
The phrase "shooting from the hip" refers to a practice of taking an unaimed, reckless shot. I see characters shooting thier 3DMG all sorts of directions without aiming it. In truth, aiming it would be a total bitch.
- Impossible to ride so fast with horse drawn carriage
Mentioned this in another post. If both carriage wheels were to hit a bump at the speeds they are traveling, the whole cart should be flipping over.
- People regularly fall 30-40 feet and don't break anything.
- No way to fit 50 feet of cable in 3DMG.
This is my biggest gripe. With 3DMG axles that small, there's a zero percent chance you could carry more than 10 feet of cable. Shooting out 30-50 feet during combat is ridiculous.
