So at the very beginning of the series, Sasuke, the so called Uchiha Avenger expressed his desire to kill Uchiha Itachi, but he also expressed the desire to ressurect his clan as shown here.
Now, whether or not this ambition still stands is left to be confirmed, but let's assume it still does for the sake of the conversation lol
Now, this ties in with the question of whether or not clans inbreed in order to conserve their Kekkei Genkai. Basically, Sasuke's hope of reviving Uchiha is kind of near impossible is it not?
Even assuming Sasuke himself is 100% full bred Uchiha himself, if he has to marry and harbor children, they will be at best half-Uchiha and their children will be 1/4 Uchiha, diminishing the Uchiha gene and the Sharingan Kekkei Genkai with each generation by a factor of 2.
Basically, his hope of reviving Uchiha to its former glory will be near impossible considering regular genetics no? The Sharingan and the Uchiha blood will never truly be complete as a unified clan. The only option I see is genetic modification of some sort like Oro did with Yamato or some type of medical jutsu(or....dare I say it, Madara is really a she!!!

Itachi basically killed and doomed the entire clan on that fateful night, regardless of leaving Sasuke alive because the clan will never recover
