From all the Sharingan we've seen, they all seem to have a 4th Mangekyou ability that's unique to the caster. For instance, Kakashi (Obito) has Kamui, Sasuke can manipulate Amaterasu (his "Blaze" release), Madara has his S/T jutsu, Shisui has his ultimate genjutsu (Koto Amatsukami), but what about Itachi?
From what Itachi has been shown to do, I'm guessing that his unique ability is to reprogram other Sharingan. He programmed Sasuke's eye to activate upon seeing Madara's eyes. He programmed Shisui's eye to activate upon seeing Itachi's eyes.
