According to CLAMP, North America is getting Gate 7 this summer. So that's practically a simultaneous release.

Wasn't Gate 7 supposed to be a simultaneous release between Japan and North America from the start? It was also near-simultaneous in France (got the one-shot a month after, and I think there's only a month's delay between chapters now).

TLRD Vol.2 is scheduled for release on July 4th.

I know it will be released on 3rd June but I thought it would also be released in July as always (almost, the only time there was a break AFAIR was when Claymore went from old magazine to Jump SQ). So there's going to be yet another break? Not good.

What do you mean by that? Claymore only has enough chapters for the volume that going to release at June, and it doesn't have enough chapters to release two months subsequently.

I think he's confusing the volume releases with chapters in the magazine.

lol, the July Release schedule is for the manga volume release in Japan, not the chapter that will be in the July issue (or, rather, August issue, which comes out in July) of SQ.

I would think the presence of DGM Character Book would be clear enough

I've never seen any character book in my life and assumed it's short enough to be put in a Jump SQ. And the title of the thread also suggests that we're talking here about the magazine itself. Anyway, "July Volume Release Schedule" would make it clear as day. Guess I wasn't paying attention to this topic long enough to know better but now I know.

Actually, data book/character book are fairly common for Shueisha's longer series. Series like One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach all have more than 3 under their belt (it's the second one for DGM).

As for the release schedule, the manga volume release info had always been posted in their respective magazine threads. It's standard practice.

I have a feeling like Shueisha puts too many emphasis on Jump SQ. It had Jump SQ.19, then Super Dash Manga Program, now they are putting yet another new magazine (Jump SQ. LaB).

lol, making new spin-off magazines isn't really that new for Shueisha. I mean YJ had its round a few months ago with AoHaru in November (it's mainly for its rookie competition winners and such), and Miracle Jump in January (and onward).

We don't know how well it's going to sell, or if it's a one time spin-off or permanent release, yet.

I wonder when Shueisha's going to learn that making new magazines is bad business,,,
what Shueisha really should be doing with all that money is to invest on online-readers and make online-magazines...
Shogakukan and Square Enix seem to have the right idea, but Shueisha's investment on web-magazines is still pretty low...

Hmmm, so Jump SQ going to have new series in four issues in a row? Then, that means there going to be more series that going to be out?

Also, is the new series' original story about ecchi and romantic-comedy? If it is, then I don't think Jump SQ really need this series because Jump SQ already/going to have two series that have similar genre (To Love-Ru Darkness and Hanimero).

I've only read up to Vol.4 of the Light Novel (you can't buy them all ), and it's mix between romantic-comedy and heartfelt comedy without any extra fantasy elements.

As for having too many similar genre, it's possible to assume that this will just be a promotional series for the Light Novel that would be 2~3 volumes long, instead of something that's permanent.

Mayoi Neko was planned for just 2 volumes, but continued on because the manga was insanely popular (though, of course, it's gone on hiatus in SQ.19, with Matsu not working on even the Light Novel...). It could be the same with Papa.
