Identify sarcasm in writing is very hard since it doesn't have features that spoken language has such as voice tone, which identifies the sarcasm.

That said and given that I'm talking with Europeans, who most of them still thinks that Brazil's capital is Buenos Aires and have a reputation of coldness and being no fun. I choose to take it seriously.

You're half right here. Rio de Janeiro was capital of Brazil until 1960, when Brasilia was founded. Our Portuguese is known as Brazilian Portuguese, since it completely different from Portugal Portuguese.
