English native speakers have a easy life. We are almost obligated to learn English because it is a good addition to the curriculum. Unfortunately, that is the thinking for many. It makes me angry when my stepdad says things like, "This is America, and we speak English here. Learn it or leave." It sounds so ignorant to me. But, first I think it's a good cognitive exercise to make yourself learn new languages. And second, I think it helps to appreciate other cultures better. It's a big vast world. Americans would be wise to learn about it."Everybody speaks English anyway, why would I learn other languages for?".

Well, I think that in unversities, principally universities that receives foreign students, are already used to our bad English, at least at first. It is very hard though. I studied French for five years and a semester in college and can barely hold a conversation. Anyone who can speak multiple languages, and well, gets major points in my book.
