Finished S2 of RWBY. Things start to get serious, huh? This was an awesome season for me, RWBY has a great mix of different genres. Can't get enough of the comedy though, Ruby is excellent in that particular department. :lmao

I don't think any character stood out in S2, they were all doing fine. Jaune and Pyrrha were great besides the main cast members imo.

I'm halfway through Season 3 and it is getting quite intense. But let's start with Winter first. :zomg

Now, I know where Weiss got her part-time bitchy attitude. :teehee

I must admit, I didn't like her so much in the beginning, but she is slowly growing on me. A little bit too strict for an onesan. Doubt she will climb the ranks of my favorite characters. However, I absolutely love her interactions with Qrow, who on the other hand is - without any doubt - one of my favorite characters. :lmao

The third episode was incredible, that face off between Winter and Qrow was epic. :zomg

I can't wait to see both of them go all out.

On the other hand, I didn't like the fight between Yang + Weiss vs. the other two guys whose name I already forgot. The fight was rather dumb, the soundtracks totally out of place. It was... how would Qrow describe it... it was...

Then there is this thing with the maidens and Pyrrha. Ozpin makes a clear distindistinction between Semblance and what he refers to the maidens power -> Magic. But I'm not seeing any difference there, even though I haven't witnessed any maidens power in action yet. It should be basically the same, just bigger and better?

Anyway, I was surprised that Ozpin and co. really intend to experiment on a "student". Yes, we were told that we have a dire situation, and Pyrrha seems to fit perfectly as a candidate, but still... Pyrrha is just a student. Not to mention that she would be way too powerful to remain as the student after she gets all that power. I have mixed feelings about this and the adults (Ozpin and co).

Episode 7:
Now that things start to roll, there are some points which bug me a little bit. I'm actually disappointed by the performance of Amber. She didn't do justice to the hype the maidens got in my opinion. If it just takes three skilled people to take down a maiden - and this quite comfortable by the way + no loss on Cinder's team - then I don't understand the hype about them. Unless I'm missing something here like Amber not being at 100% for whatever reason. Maybe I just underestimate Emerald and Mercury? I consider Cinder to be top tier, but not the other two. And it should - given the hype - require at least several top tier fighters to - at best - equal a maiden in my opinion.

And another thing I don't get... did Emerald really use a Genjutsu on pretty much anyone who saw the Yang vs. Mercury fight live and on tv? Without anyone noticing it like Ozpin, Qrow, Glynda and Ironwood? That's so overpowered, it's not even funny. :lmao

Who does even need the power of the maidens? Well, it's not really a Genjutsu world Emerald is putting their targets in, as seen in the fight with Amber who still perceived the surroundings of the real word, but no matter how you look at it, you shouldn't be able to fool so many high class characters unless you are the most powerful being in the series, which I assume Emerald is not. xD

Yeah, I also see a little difference there as you said bigger and better...

The main difference between Semblance and Maidens is that a user can use Maidens powers even without Aura.

This is not the weirdest thing that they consider magic...

No, she only uses her powers on Yang so Yang have seen Mercury attack her ( which never happen ) and strike back

Everyone else saw Yang attacking a defenceless student.

I honestly didn't expect RWBY to go this direction... this was - from the protagonist point of view - one hell of a horrible season final. :oh

Where do I start? Ironwood was probably the biggest loser of this season with his whole fleet getting overwhelmed. At least he gained some plus points by displaying some fighting prowess.

That was cool, you can't argue against that.

On the other hand, we have the long awaited reunion between Blake and Adam.

It was a shock to see Yang's arm getting chopped off like that. I saw that gif a couple of times, but never realized that Yang lost her arm there. I always thought it's a one-shot defeat, nothing more nothing less. :sweatdrop

A very unfortunate outcome for a tajutsu-based fighter. : /

I can see why you hate Adam so much. :lmao

But to be honest, he is doing a very good job as a villain. I think he has a certain appeal, hence I started to take a liking to him. :teehee

Not in the "I root for him" way of course, but in a "I would like to see him more often" way. Damn, I don't want to imagine what will happen if Qrow ever meets Adam. :popcorn

It was incredible to see Blake pushing forward and trying to take out Adam, but it was as much disappointing to see her leave her friends without a proper explanation and farewell. Yes, we all do understand her, but still... her friends deserved better than this in my view. : / But that's all part of the drama and Blake will definitely realize that this is not the best way.

By the way, Weiss gained her own partial Susanoo. That's awesome!

Too bad her father took her away now. : / So, we will see more about the Schnee family and the inner workings of the Schnee Dust Company? That's something, I guess.

And finally, we got some Ozpin action. It took him long enough to be honest. The few glimps we got between Cinder vs. Ozpin were epic. That is exactly what I was expecting from the maidens and headmasters power.

What Amber wasn't able to deliver, Cinder made up for it. Still, I'm not sure what happened to Ozpin though. People always say that he is missing... not that he is dead.

Yeah, I won't show any screens of Pyrrha's... of Pyrrha's dea... No, I can't say it. I can't write it. I don't want to believe it. It was heartbreaking, literally. She was such a great character and it's extremely saddening to see her go (so soon?)... She was probably the strongest, the most respected and kindhearted student in the series. Oh gosh, it pains my heart so much that we won't see her again. This just can't be true. It has to be Jaune to take out Cinder regardless of how stupid it sounds. He has to kill Cinder!

Ruby is confirmed to be some special warrior. Well, I'm not surprised at all. :lmao

First, I thought she is a maiden as well, but it seems this silver eyed people are something entirely else. Her mother was the same. So, I guess Ruby's mother was some op mofo. Who could possibly have killed her? This ancient looking mysterious character at the end maybe?

Looks like Adam/Cinder won't be the final villains. And the maidens power are probably not the only "op" things in this world.

By the way... the way this woman talks about Ozpin makes me think that Ozpin might not be just your school-headmaster. Seems like they have some kind of relation... the fact that Ozpin is not stated to be dead (but missing) might be hint that there is more to him.

Oh, and Qrow can turn into a freaking crow? That's neat! Is he going to watch over Ruby and co.? We will see more of him? :zomg
