I don't think hisoka's ability takes that long to use. Just one punch is enough for him to start placing his gum around which cannot plausibly be good for kuroro. Hisoka is too good a fighter to just leave the fight to luck, odds are he has more tricks he can do with his gum other than what he comes up with in battle.

But you have to take into consideration that Kuroro already knows Hisoka's gum ability (since he doesn't hide it at all), where as Hisoka doesn't know what ability Kuroro can use against him. Also what makes Hisoka's gum ability dangerous is that he can place the gum at anytime when the opponent not expected. If Hisoka places gum with every single attack, it'll become too predictable and easily defeated.

Actually, that is not the case at all. I can't remember the chapter exactly -it was one of the many chapters that had merely a couple of numbers for a title- but during the york shin arc the narrator gave a very detailed explanation about every ryodan member hiding his/her abilities from the other. It is something of vital importance to them, no single members has full or even detailed information about what other ryodan members abilities are. Their abilities are to some extent not easy to figure out without the narrator so in general the info they have on other members is actually limited. For instance, maki knows hisoka uses his gum but she thinks it merely makes stuff disappear, she does not know about the other 1000 textures it can reproduce or the gum like abilities it has.

Seriously? Read that 2 pages one more time. Hisoka has TWO abilities, the extensible love and the subtle lie. The extensible love is the bubble gum like nen and subtle lie is the ability to change the texture of a surface. In that 2 pages you mention it's about subtle lie, not extensible love. And how do you think Hisoka hides his extensible love when Gon and Killua see through the nen when using gyo the first time with the tape. What makes extensible love powerful is that even if the enemy knows what the ability is, it'll still be hard to defend against.

for the reference

Well, do you have any evidence any other ryodan member has seen hisoka's other nen technique? Even the deceiptful texture is somewhat of a mystery to those who have seen it, what makes you think other members would understand or even know about the bungee gum?

You really aren't good with reading comprehension are you. In your response above you imply that bungee gum is more mysterious compare to deceitful texture, where as it's shown several times that deceitful texture is less known and understanded by anyone. Read over all scenes including Hisoka again please. In all his fight Hisoka never bother to hide his bungee gum ability and sometimes even openly explains it. If you want to see an example about how one hides his ability in combat, look at killua's fights.

Hisoka is stronger ofcourse.
In terms of nen ability, Kuroro may in upper hand, but in term of strategy (and sanity) Hisoka is much better.

Geez how long is this hiatus going to take... anyways, I voted for Kuroro but it was a tough vote.

A little break down from my understanding of the two:

Kuroro:

Advantage:
- Unpredictability: As far as the story goes we have not yet seen exactly what abilities he has in stock with his book, therefore we (and Hisoka) do not know what he is capable of.
- Analytical Skill: Kuroro has demonstrated extraordinary analytical skills from time to time and this poses threat to Hisoka's deceitful nen plays.

Disadvantage:
- One activation only: Kuroro has a great inventory of nen abilities but he can only use one at a time.
- One hand only: while he uses other people's abilities, Kuroro is only able to use one hand, which can be quite dangerous as the battle gets heated.

Hisoka

Advantage:
- Deceitful texture: like earlier discussed, Kuroro IS NOT aware of this ability, which can be extremely dangerous for Kuroro. Think someone from earlier mentioned that Hisoka uses this ability to hide his extensible love ability, which is false, he hides his extensible gum ability by using "IN", not Deceitful texture; therefore Hisoka may very well utilize this ability into his advantage.

But then when Hisoka removed his fake Number 4 tat off his back, I'm not sure if Kuroro could figure out how he did it.

Disadvantage:
- Extensible gum: well Kuroro does know about this ability and it puts Hisoka under disadvantages.

My conclusion:

Still don't know who's gonna win, but it sure is gonna be a hell of a fight; if I really have to vote, I picture Kuroro somehow wins... and Hisoka re-challenges him again and again and again...

We don't know how much strong Kuroro is. All we know is that he can handle both Zeno and Silva at the same time...

Kuroro could be as strong as the other Ryodan member, or 10 times stronger. We don't really know.

BUT, there is something that keep bothering me...

Who is the man that Hisoka want to fight the most? The strongest he know.

However...

So, for Hisoka standards, Kuroro should be stronger than Netero.

Or Hisoka has no idea of Netero's strength?

Actually in the manga's timeline, Hisoka and Kuroro might have already fought each other. Hisoka found nen remover and they're ready for nen removal at the end of GI arc. From the end of GI arc to the current time, several months has already passed. It is safe to say that the nen removal has already happen and also the fight (having the nen removing beast doesn't affect the person's nen). Another interesting fact is that during the Phantom troupe vs chimera ant fight, Machi is absent. Also absent are Franklin and Nobunaga. All three of them displays personal royalty toward Kuroro above Phantom troupe during the yorkshin arc. Also remember when Machi talked to Hisoka during GI that if he killed Kuroro she'd personally hunt him down.

In conclusion. Maybe kuroro is dead?

Here are some comments:

Deceitful Texture can only be used on thin surfaces, like cloth (ex. His arm healing trick and his fake spider tattoo) or paper (ex. when Hisoka altered the Lovely Ghost Writer prediction).
http://hunterxhunter.piczo.com/?g=10211293&cr=5
So unless Hisoka has a lot of paper or cloth with him when he fights Kuroro it cannot be spammed. Also I believe Kuroro is smart and can live long enough in battle to understand how this trick works.
Additionally I don't think Deceitful Texture can create an effect that is as impressive as Zeno's Dragon Head or Silva's nen-punch on Kuroro. He would be amused but not fooled or impressed.

--

About Zeno and Silva vs. Kuroro issue:
- Kuroro was too busy trying to steal some abilities from the Zaoldyecks. And it was hard to do in a fight; just look at the conditions here:
http://animefans-stuff.blogspot.com/2009/12/kuroro-lucifer.html
That prevented us to see how strong he really is.
- It was clear that Zeno could pin Kuroro in a short time. If Silva landed his attack on Kuroro's face the latter would be no more, and the former even had the presence of mind to aim somewhere else when Illumi called. Simply shows that if they're all at full power a Zaoldyeck or two would walk away as the winner.

--

Hisoka's challenge to Netero was like a challenge thrown by a lower-ranked and clearly inferior boxer at a peerless champion. Hisoka's reaction when Netero ignored his challenge even made him look more inferior. It was a slap to Hisoka's ego because he got the same treatment he gave to the poor dying spearman whom he refused to fight in the Hunter Exams (this spearman was killed by Illumi if I remember correctly).

Hisoka's desire to defeat Kuroro is different in his attitude towards Netero. It's like the desire to fight a rival. We can see in Hisoka a sort of a passion to kill Kuroro, a passion he does not get from other strong people, like the Ryodan, Razor or Netero. It's an interest that goes beyond taking into account power. It's almost an attraction.

--

Still, it's hard to decide who will win, because I think this won't be decided by Hatsu but by tactics employed in the fight. There are battles where the Hatsu can instantly determine the winner (Ryodan vs. Ants) and there are those where sheer nen amounts and durability could (Hunters vs. Royal Guards and Meryem). This ain't one of them. I personally think Hisoka and Kuroro are very close to each other and what I saw from them so far doesn't help me decide who will win this.

That makes sense. Hisoka has some kind of attraction to young boys, and Kuroro is a handsome young man... his desire to fight Kuroro is like the one with Gon, he also feel some kind of sexual attraction to them...

The argument that works best in Kuroro's favor is if Hisoka can avoid Kuroro's poisoned knife. It's unlikely Hisoka can easily avoid the blade and Hisoka does not know the full extent of Kuroro's ability as evidenced by him being surprised when Kuroro teleported him. Hisoka could very well be the stronger fighter, but Kuroro would negate those advantages thanks to strategy and his standard equipment.

How did zeno and silva held back? If anything, zeno was ready to have his son attack through him, basically zeno was willing to die in that battle. Perhaps there is more to see from zeno and silva but at the very least zeno was not holding his punches.
They all played around because all of them knew illumi had taken the assignment from kuroro. Especially kuroro who just wanted to drag the time out untill illumi killed the god fathers, although he was tempted to try out his luck to see if he could really steal the abilites of the two elders to make the time worth while. We also knew zeno held back since he never wanted to involve innocently people, as mentioned after he finished netero's assignment with that hectic dragon dive. Silver simply follow through with his father's requests, who know what other things he is capable of. Otherwise, they would not have accepted the request from the god fathers. Two more evidence speaks that was the case, one is is that silver didn't look surprised when illumi called him to ask if his client is still alive. The second was that the zoaldyeck's great great grandpa and kalluto was along side illumi suggesting the entire family or at least most of them were involved.

Netero wasn't the only one, there was also Illumi Zoldyck but for some reason he didn't fight him. It looked to me they both respected each other and knew each other for a long time. Probably they wouldn't want to fight unless for a really good reason.
Wrong! Hisoka mentioned himself that he is not into broken toys. Illumi was someone who would hold back on his fights and run when needed. This is seen in his teachings to killua and the way he planted that needle inside killua's head. The entire zoaldyeck would put their lives first before money; killing is a career for them so don't die on the job in other words. Hisoka is not interested those kind of people who has the potential but will never use it in the fullest; It would not be fun for him.

Wrong, Kuroro only used the poisoned knife because he was outnumbered by two experienced fighters. Kuroro picked zeno to be he one he intended to keep alive and steal his abilites. Kuroro had fought silver before and had decided his ability was inferior or less interesting compared to his fathers, and in that fight he would not have used the poisoned blade because it was during the present fight did he realize they are both immune to poison. In other words using poisonous blade would be pointless.

The one thing i can say about kuroro is that he never had the intention of fighting hisoka untill that moment hisoka revealed his deceitful texture/subtle lie. Which he showed the same stare as when he was watching neon. It might be desire for that rare ability, that could have been his ultimate downfall. However if his desire to kill hisoka for betraying him exceeds his thief instincts then hisoka would be the one getting one hell of a fight.

I would love to see hisoka lose, though he is my favorite. The thought of him losing his memories (which kuroro must do to keep him alive and keep him at bay) while kuroro played around with his abilities would be fun to read.

I have two questions though. Kuroro's ability said he must watch the ability in action and ask question etc etc within 24 hrs. Does he lose the chance of stealing that ability forever if he doesn't follow through the sequence within 24 hrs?

The second question is that in every page of kuroro's book lies the picture of the ability's owner. It would be weird if two pages of the same person came up. Do you think kuroro will be restricted in taking one ability only from hisoka? since he has 2 hatsu states unlike most people.

Kuroro being hesitant to use the poisoned knife, which is standard equipment for him, would be in-character for him if he were trying to steal one of Hisoka's abilities. That would also lead to Kuroro limiting his fighting ability. But if you look at it from a battledome perspective, or where you remove character inhibitions, it's clear that the poisoned knife gives Kuroro the edge because Hisoka has no effective counter against it.

I have two questions though. Kuroro's ability said he must watch the ability in action and ask question etc etc within 24 hrs. Does he lose the chance of stealing that ability forever if he doesn't follow through the sequence within 24 hrs?

Question 1: Togashi has placed no limits on the number of times Kuroro can attempt a theft of a person's ability. As long as Kuroro meets the required conditions, theft of the ability is successful. Kuroro only loses an ability when the former owner of the ability he stole dies.

Question 2: When using a particular ability, Kuroro needs to turn to the page where said Hatsu is stored in his book. Togashi may later on place a one Hatsu per person limit on Kuroro's Skill Hunter, but until then, I wouldn't assume that Kuroro is incapable of acquiring both of Hisoka's Hatsu.

I think you are underestimating Hisoka's abilitys.

Their potentiom for evolution are extreme.

Lets say, he can attach his aura to the enemy's head and anothe part of his body, lets say his leg.

Hisoka then activates his texture to blind the enemy (he could even be able to make him see illusions, we don't know what the texture is able to do!)
And also activates the bungee between leg and head nonstop. this would hardly hinder his enemy from moving freely, while hisoka can also pull him anytime he wants.
Once the enemy gets used to the frequent pulling on his leg, and counters it, Hisoka could suddenly release it midfight, what would make his enemy tumble for a split second.

All these points are INCREDIBLE advantages in a fight, and though he may not be able to do this exact thing, we don't know the full potentiall of either hisoka's or Kuroro's abilitys, so we should not judge the book by it's cover ;)

hisoka will basically fight anyone who regardless if the difference of power. my opinion is that chrollo can destroy hisoka. but since there is no fight and either has even used 1/3 of their full power we cannot confirm anything yet.

also regarding physical stength, come on guys do i even have to talk about this? from what we've seen physical strength has little to do with fighting in hunter x hunter examples would not be needed to prove this but if u really need one then the fight

kurapicka vs uvogin would prove this

Well, do you have any evidence any other ryodan member has seen hisoka's other nen technique? Even the deceiptful texture is somewhat of a mystery to those who have seen it, what makes you think other members would understand or even know about the bungee gum?
They know about Hisoka's bungee Gum. Machi knows about it, Hisoka doesn't make his bungee gum much of a secret, and I believe a member mentioning his difficult ability bungee gum referring to it as being troublesome. His texture works on items like cloth, paper his cards.....It's not primarily one used for battle and he would need quite some skill to pull it of during a battle with somebody capable

Kurapicka vs Uvo was BS, Kurapicka wasn't suppose to be that much faster or that strong to hit Uvo the way's he did. the plot demanded this imo to show that His Chain jail was unbreakable by the strongest member of the Spiders.

Hisoka and Chrollo are on the same Tier if you ask me. And Illumi mentions him playing tag with Chrollo during the election arc sorta of referring to them maybe having brief bounts and somebody escapes at the end. Cause we know Chrollo's judgment chain was lifted from him.

I say either can win, why they are of the same Tier..Meaning skill, power, analytic ability, they could kill each other on their good days and bad days. Chrollo has a book full of hatsu abilities that he can only use with 1 hand however that's good enough if he possess a haxx offense ability, we only seen this dude fight 1 and he was buying time against the Head Zoldyck's going on the defensive and trying to steal an ability. Hisoka on the other hand technically has sticky tendrils he can use which makes him super versatile and just body to body contact with him can land you in his bungee gum. We know he's physically stronger so Chrollo would most want to avoid this part, Chrollo is good at dodging we see so i'm sure he'll be using Gyo watching out for all of hisoka's bungee traps.

I lean towards Hisoka cause he's such a monster and a fighting genius. Chrollo hope he's shown again can enlighten us on some of his offensive abilities and just some other's he has. But who knows exactly how fearsome he is I just know he can't take Hisoka H2H.
