May I remind you that Laxus was actually the one who told us that 'It's not about being strong or weak' in the fight against Hades. Personally I think almost everyone in Fairy Tail is strong and I'm not only talking about physical strenght. I'm a Laxus fan too, but not because he is strong, just because he is an amazing character.

Grey and Natsu are stronger than Laxus ? lmao
on Tartaros arc , Natsu needed to go on Dragon force to match Tempesta..
Tho Grey after getting devil slayer's power managed to one shot Tempesta , like Laxus did with one hit and no needed a power up or something like this..
Now after timeskip, Natsu seems to be more powerful and grey too...
But sorry when i saw Laxus saving Makarov from Ajeel ( one of 12 shield springan)l it was the end of the debat.
This guy blocked a standstorm with only one hit and make a nuclear explosion with only moving his hand... Erza was like " wtf "
Ajeel said that this attack couldn't kill him , but if Laxus touched him with this explosion he would be damaged hard, and giving several damage to a man like one of the springan with only using one hand is absolutly fcking badass XD
And why isn''t laxus nearly to Gildarts level ? Hades said this already , only on anime tho but all what passes in anime need Mashiima approbation..

Yeah but in Tartaros you are comparing two different things.

In Tartaros, both Gray and Natsu were exhausted by several battles and situations such as Alegria.

Laxus came out of the sky at full power after Tempesta attacked Yajima and Thunder God Tribe.

It is my opinion that Gray and Natsu are stronger.

Of course Laxus was able to nullify Ajeel's attack, first of all, Ajeel is the weakest Spriggan, if Laxus couldn't perform that simple trick, he'd be worse than Gajeel in my opinion. So that was expected of him and not something you should be glorified about.

And of course Erza was like wth. She is always like that until it is her turn and she wins. Give me a break.

Laxus should be able to defeat Ajeel in a 1v1, I don't see why people are impressed. Not beating Ajeel will give you 0 chance against Orgast and Brandish.

Hades never went against Gildartz so he doesn't know how strong he is. If you go back to my list though, I think Hades is stronger than Gildartz.

Ik that I'm sounding like a Laxus hater right, but trust me, Laxus is cool and badass in my opinion. He close to my top favorite character, although not quite there. That is pretty good on my list though to make it that far up. My favorite 2 obviously being the two on my signature.

Before you start criticizing me that I'm lying just let me tell you that:

A true Laxus fan knows that Ajeel was nothing and that the feat was not impressive. If we keep boasting about Laxus' encounter with Ajeel, Laxus will seem weak when Natsu or Gray take down an even bigger opponent.

If you want to support Laxus and his capabilities, don't mention Ajeel. When Laxus beats an opponent worthy of Gildartz level, then the Laxus fans can boast and show that Laxus is a powerhouse. Ajeel is not a good example.

Now hold up here. Natsu is stronger than Laxus for sure, but I'd say Gray isn't. Sure, Laxus fought Tempesta and was going pretty well in that fight. However, Tempesta didn't use his Etherious form against Laxus, meaning he didn't go all out against him. Meanwhile Natsu had already fought a few of the demons gates in Jackal, Franmalth (who also absorbed a lot of his magic power) before he got to spar a little with Tempesta. While this happened, Natsu not only spent massive amounts of magic in those fights, he also had magic absorbed by franmalth and he took damage from both being frozen by silver and Mard Geer's alegria. Natsu right there has taken way more damage than Laxus and also been in more fights, so how can you compare someone who is down and unable to fight to someone who fought numerous battles against Demon Gates stronger than Tempesta?

Sure, Laxus stopped Ajeel's big sand tsunami. But you are forgetting Natsu dispelled Ajeel's Ant Lion Larva Pit, which no one has ever escaped from. That too is impressive in its own right. Sure, Laxus can drop big bolts of lightning like that, but you saw how easily August blocked the attack. Sure, that attack could've done massive damage to Ajeel, but Ajeel is pretty much the weakest of the Spriggan 12 from what we've seen from him.

No because now this sparks some confusion. I need somebody to clarify if we are talking about Natsu or END. Cuz to me, they are two completely different people.

Natsu Dragneel's most powerful form as a human is probably not much greater than Laxus himself. END is an entity that is unknown, therefore, cannot be used when determining power rankings.

We don't know how strong END is, although he is the strongest Etherious demon, it doesn't mean he cannot be taken down by Acnologia or a Spriggan single-handedly. We assume because of the hype, but without it, we don't know where he lies.

Gray in the other hand, you are reserved to your right btw, but he suffered the same amount of collateral damage as Nastu, if not greater. Unlike Natsu and Gajeel who ended up forming a duo tag team against Torafusa and Tempesta, Gray was up against the 3rd or 4th strongest demon by himself.

You can say that Silver let him win, but the damage inflicted from the fight exceeded Natsu and Gajeel combined. In Natsu's fight, he was the first to give out, after Torafusa unleashed his black water. So he only sustained damage up until that point.

It is fair to say Gray had been fighting Tartaros main force, Keyes, was caught by Alegria, and confronted Silver by himself with no assistance. Afterwards, Gray went straight out and fought Tempesta at his strongest form, both base and Etherious Mard Geer, and absorbed Memento Mori at point blank shot.

Idc what you guys say, but the damage that Gray absorbed into his body was greater than Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus combined in Tartaros Arc.

Again, you can't use Ajeel and Alvarez for evidence. We've hardly had anything to measure.

Sure, Laxus used his bolt of lightning to nullify that sandstorm.

Yes, Natsu evaporated the pit of sand.

And it was shown that Gray was able to also freeze the sand using his most basic and low level spell.

From what we can see, the three are pretty much tied at this point. We've seen Laxus and Natsu nullify Ajeel's attacks, but we haven't seen Gray in action yet so it is too hard to tell. As far as we've seen, Gray has fared just fine by himself against Ajeel. Gray just hasn't shown anything yet because there were only 2 chances to prove yourself so far, both of which was taken by Natsu and Laxus respectively.

As you saw in the recent chapter, Gray recalled Natsu's secret technique his bandaged arm, but Gray didn't in the slightest feel outclassed because he has his own thing to show, he just hasn't decided to show it yet. For all we know, it could be Demon Force, Demonization, or something of equivalent power.

Idk about Laxus, but in order for Gray to complete his goal at having a chance at defeating END (the goal he has been working on the past year), then Gray has to be near END or at the very least, not feel outclassed by sheer power of END himself.......?

I wouldn't call Ice Make Silver a basic low level attack when it froze that sand monster of Ajeel's.
And I wouldn't say Gray took more damage than anyone else. Natsu, Lucy and the others that were in range of Forafusa's Black Sea are still affected by it as long as they remain in it, not until they pass out. Secondly, Natsu took heavy damage from Jackal, Franmalth, The Alegria Spell, some minor damage from Tempesta and then Natsu took lots of damage from Mard Geer. Gray on the other hand took damage from Silver, Alegria and Mard Geer. Tempesta didn't hit Gray at all, so Gray didn't sustain any damage there. If anything, this shows Natsu took more damage than Gray. Laxus also did take a fair bit of damage from the air particles Tempesta released, but its probably not as much as what Natsu took.

Gray didn't even come close to sweating when he used Ice Make Silver, but I'll give it to you that it is mid tier attack even though it doesnt look like that to me.

I have no way to measure how much damage Gray took, but the point was that Gray was not at any advantage over Natsu and Laxus in Tartaros. He still sustained the same amount of damage as Natsu and was exhausted more than most people.

Torafusa's black water only causes discomfort when you are conscience. Once you are knocked out, it is just a matter of it killing you without you knowing. Sure it is not a preferable condition to be in, but it doesn't really add to any fatigue or exhaustion.

Even though Tempesta didn't hit Gray, I used him to show that Gray depleted a lot of magical energy, something that would exhaust and cause major fatigue in any ordinary Mage. My point was not only physical damage, like an arm being ripped off. I'm talking about physical fatigue and exhaustion as well

I'm not arguing who took more damage. As far as I'm concerned Natsu and Gray took a lot of damage, were exhausted and worn out due to fatigue. Which was why they didn't one-shot Tempesta under normal circumstances. Gray did with Ice Devil Slaying Magic, a slight advantage in there.

Laxus on the other hand one shot Tempesta fair and square, but had no fatigue or exhaustion and struck Tempesta after he attack Yajima and Thunder Legion.

If you want my ranking for chapter 453, I'd say Natsu and Gray and Laxus are all somewhat tied, at least so far with the given information we have...

Who on earth said that Ajeel is the weakest Spriggan?

---------- Post added at 04:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:26 AM ----------

Where is your proof that Natsu is stronger than Laxus "for sure".
We won't know the power rankings until we see everyone peroform.
The power scalings could be Erza>Gray>Natsu>Laxus or vice versa for all we know. Natsu shouldn't have any access to END power yet because the book has been sealed.

Its basically implied Ajeel is one of the weaker Spriggan seeing he has been sent in first, seemingly ahead of the rest of the empire.
Natsu is stronger than Laxus imo because he has something Laxus doesn't: Dragon Force. 2nd Gen Dragon Slayers don't have access to Dragon Force, so if Natsu was to use that against Laxus in a fight, he'd surely win it.

While its not specifically stated, where is the proof they can use it?
We've been told that Dragon Force is the power of a Dragon directly inherited from one, hence why the 1st and 3rd Gen Dragon Slayers can use it. If the 2nd Generation could use it, you'd of at least seen Cobra use it by now. If Laxus could use Dragon Force, you would've seen him use it by now, but we haven't, so thats why I say he isn't stronger than Natsu unless he has Dragon Force.

I searched for something that says that dragon force is directly inherited from a dragon and found nothing to support that, nothing has stated that the 2nd generation can't access dragon force and the fact that the lacrima within the 3rd generation allows them to access dragon force at will supports my theory that the 2nd generation can achieve it.

Natsu activated Dragon Force by will in the Tartaros Arc when Gray collapsed, which shows first generation dragon slayers can activate it at will. Wendy has also activated it at will (see the Avatar arc). That very same chapter (Chapter 411) in which Natsu activated Dragon Force by will, Mard Geer said and I quote: "What is this power?... Is this the Dragon Force!? Inherited Directly from Igneel!" This clearly states Dragon Force is inherited directly from a Dragon, meaning the second generation dragon slayers, i.e Laxus and Cobra, cannot obtain and use Dragon Force.

Yes we know that they can activate it at will now, but the abilities of the 2nd Generation has never been expanded on because they are secondary characters, who knows what they are capable of?

Why ajeel is the weakest Springan ? just because he is the first one showing up ? and what about Brandish ? she showed up first...
and tbh , Ajeel is by far the strongest opponent that Fairy tail faced until now, not a single member of tartaros, or smth is stronger than him...
to be honest too Tartaros guild sucks a lot , they are so weak , Juvia, Wendy managed to beat one member alone, and having members like franmalth is just a joke...
And one thing , u said natsu was tired and exhausted before facing Tempesta...just lol , i will said the same thing about Laxus vs entire Fairy tail..
Faced Mystogan
Faced Erza
Faced Natsu
Faced Natsu and Gajeel
Using fairy law
Faced Natsu once again and got saved by Gajeel
and on top of that he was using the thunder palace
So if i follow you, if Laxus faced Natsu and Gajeel on the first and didnt use all this magic he would rape them ?

Just remember on the grand games magic , Laxus whiped Jura who was the strongest human , even Makarov said that Jura could fight Gildartz as an equal, and please dont tell me that Makarov was wrong and he dont know the power of Gildarts...well if Makarov dont know ? u guys know ?
Im only telling whas im reading and u guys you are making hypotess and fake powers comparison.

Hear, hear. I find it illogical to think that Natsu and Gray have surpassed Laxus just because they trained for 1 year, its like Laxus didn't train for 1 year as well (using logic he trained more than everyone since he trained throughout the entirety of the Avatar arc and the beginning of this arc). I know the argument that Laxus can't achieve dragon force may tip the scales in Natsu's favour but why would he be weaker than Gray?
The only reason why people like Laxus and Gajeel haven't accessed dragon force yet is because Mashima wants to nerf them because i think we all know that a Laxus with dragon force would be one of the most OP things in the series.

yes u are right , and on top of that Laxus have the rage inside him, because in tartaros arc he couldn't protect anyone, he was so frustrated , im sure he achieved or unlocked a new power like Dragon force or something like this huge.
Laxus is a beast like Gildarts , no need power up or smth like this to whipe the floor , just imagine him if he unlock Dragon force , or a second element like Gajeel with the shadows.. we never see Laxus going 100% on his battles, if he fight for the guild and his life he would be something unbeatable..

You guys are totally missing the whole point here. As of end of Tartaros, it is almost a sure bet that Natsu and Gray exceeded the power of Laxus. Both of them showed new power-ups, so it is possible that they exceed Laxus?

If you guys are arguing about Alvarez Arc, then just stop second guessing yourselves. We have no facts as of Alvarez arc, we are literally like a few chapters in. There have been no battles, so we're won't know until we see Laxus, Natsu, and Gray perform.

We don't have proof of anything so these are all opinions.

One is not stronger just because they have a power up (aka dragon force and Ice Devil slaying magic). It also takes skill and logic. Give Ichiya Darkness Slaying Magic and Max can probably still beat him up.

As for Ajeel, that is exactly why he is the weakest Spriggan. It's not only because he came in first. Ajeel broke a sweat after he was nearly struck by Laxus himself. You can see that he was careless which gives him a greater chance to lose a 1v1 battle. Orgast didn't even flinch....

We know at least Ajeel < Orgast and Ajeel was boasting about how he could take on Ishgar by himself just because God Serena was the number 1 mage there.

Plus Ajeel's strategy to come in screaming like a flying animal is another strike to his combat skills.

If you remember, Ajeel has already shown probably half his feats when he fought FT in Alvarez territory. None of them were impressive because they were swatted away quite easily by Natsu and Laxus.

It is safe to assume Ajeel is the weakest. Dimaria, God Serena, and Badd Mann are all also candidates for the weakest Spriggan judging from their attitudes; however, Ajeel is clearly in the bottom tier, if not, the weakest Spriggan.

Thats just one translation of the chapter. The mangapanda translation has another line from Mard instead of "Igneel's secret teaching", so unless I'm reading it wrong and that line is from mard and not Natsu, then that would still mean Dragon Force was taught to him.
