Ahh I'm so happy to see the replies!
Levi of course. That guy is too strong, he beat Annie with ease and his attacks were extremely precise, Mikasa couldn't keep up. If he wasn't handicapped, the Colossal and Armoured Titan would be already captured.
I like to think that as well, even with @KingOfKnight 's response stating the armoured titan could not be defeated by a sword. If a human WAS capable, it would be Levi with the help of others. I think he is extremely skilled as well as an intelligent soldier with strategy.. so I think if he had the knowledge of the armoured titan's weaknesses (such as the hinges behind the knees) he could very well use that to his advantage ! But who's to know for sure!
With their swords, Levi has the advantage, since he is more experienced and quicker with it.
Hand-to-hand, Mikasa wins EASILY
I like this thought! We haven't exactly seen a whole lot on Levi's hand to hand combat skill, but I can imagine a hand to hand combat between Levi and Mikasa could easily be the most epic fight ever. I know this will probably never happen but it gives me shivers just imagining it.
Well, Levi has more experience and he has been trained properly. Mikasa, with more time will be a killing machine as Levi is with no doubt.
But if we do the bet right now, I'd bet (forgive the repetition) for Levi
Mikasa would still put up an epic fight though, I think !
I would go for Levi. He has more experience using 3DMG and IS more skilled at it. Mikasa is the top of her squad but Levi is the top of well, everyone.
ALso Levi respects orders much better and doesn't get over emotional like Mikasa, making him a better soldier.
You're right! Mikasa's weakness is easily her emotion during battle. HOWEVER, if she fought Levi on the basis that she is protecting Eren (like during the court trial) that emotion could very much strengthen her. I almost wish Armin never stopped Mikasa from charging toward Levi, cause I would've loved to see what she was planning to do with him, and how Levi would have responded.
Experience can outweigh natural talent, most of the time.
However with natural talent combined with experience Mikasa will definitely outperform Levi in the future but Levi will be already be pretty old so it wouldn't matter now.
But man it was seriously impressive when Levi took down the Female Titan with such speed even when if she was weakened.
That is the sad part! Knowing we will probably never see these two at an equal level but it doesn't hurt to imagine. lol I agree though, that scene of Levi single handedly taking on the female titan was so epic, I wish Mikasa could have contributed more instead of having heichou injured because that would have made for an even more badass scene.
Levi without a doubt. Alot of people say Mikasa has natural talent and I agree but Levi has alot of experience but whose to say that levi didn't have natural talent before, I'd prefer if he was just decently talented and got incredible over time, but whose to say. Besides no offence to Mikasa but battle wise she's reckless sometimes, Levi is smarter in battle and its not only because of experience, he's just thinks more about whats best instead of charging in.
I like to think Levi possessed natural talent as well, seeing as how something had to have caught Erwin's eye. I can't wait to hear their back story.
Already made a thread about this before :P
Anyway, it is Levi, definitely. His /purpose/ is to be the strongest, he plays people's hopes in the show, he is the titan-killer. Where Mikasa is as much as a hundred soldiers, Levi is a whole brigade (I don't remember the exact word used, lawl).
If Mikasa does surpass Levi, it will either be for plot reasons or not be shown at all.
EDIT: Further shown by the fight against the Female titan. Levi was so fast Mikasa could barely catch up with what he is doing. The power gap is too big, and it won't be closed unless a major time skip is going to happen.
I knew there had to be a thread about this already! This topic is difficult to ignore! But I agree, Levi's purpose seems to be that, being the strongest.
I noticed this as well, Mikasa left Levi to fight the titan alone because she had trouble keeping up with him even just visually... then of course she makes a reckless decision to go for the kill.
Love the response guys ! Although the chances of them fighting each other (seriously) is probably impossible, I can't wait to see them actually fight along side each other ( hopefully this is more likely, but probably not for awhile since both are now injured

I just love the idea of them both working together and fighting the ape titan or something epic. They're both my favorite characters so I hope it happens Y_Y
