A bit late this week, I was out of town!
Not much in terms of differences at all... the main aspect that was a bit different was the whole play on the word Kaeru - which means frog, turn over, and return.
p5
Madara: What a hassle... time to go...
Madara: That was a a bit harder than expected... time to go...
The English trans makes it sound like it was a chore for Madara to do this... rather, he is saying that taking the Rinnegan was more difficult than anticipated.
p6
The joke that Jiraiya keeps saying is Kaeru - which means frog, turn over, return. The whole play on words is what Jiraiya keeps grinning at.
Jiraiya: Our hop-in planks
Jiraiya: These are the Frog (Kaeru) boards
Yahiko: "hop-in" planks?
Yahiko: Frog (Kaeru) boards?
Jiraiya: and you hop on in and flip em around!
Jiraiya: and the boards flip over (Kaeru) just like this
p7
Jiraiya: The pictre also reminds the others you might "hop-in" at any moment!
Jiraiya: also, the drawing here depicts that you will be returning (Kaeru) back home soon!
p9
Jiraiya: Now it's time for our "water off a frog's back" training!
Jiraiya: Alright, let's head out to the Kaeru no tsura ni mizu (Water on the Face of the frog) Training!
Yahiko: until I can turn this country around!
Yahiko: and I am going to change (kaeru) this country!
p10
Jiraiya: Turn your damn hop-in card around before you start worrying about your country!
Jiraiya: Before you change (kaeru) the country, you have to flip over your frog (kaeru) board!!
Jiraiya: is that really what I look like when I make that face? How embarassing...
Jiraiya: do I really grin like that...? ...embarassing...
not much different for this whole series of exchanges... it's generally not translatable, due to the fact that it is a play on words.
p13
Yahiko: And now we've gotta leave it behind to make our dream come true!
Yahiko: We will depart here... to finally realize our dreams
'Dream come true' makes it sound a little 'soft' for me. They're no longer kids... and to realize their ideals/dreams is their primary purpose, that's why I used 'realize their dreams'
p14
Nagato: the secret room finally served its purpose
Nagato: who would have thought the hidden passage came to use as we leave...
Nagato seems colder in the English trans, at least to me.
p15
Yahiko: Well that was a hell of a sendoff
But par for the course I guess.
Yahiko: well that ended up to be an unexpected departure for us...
but I guess it's what's expected for this country...
Yahiko is relating to this unexpected event to the turmoil within the country.
Yahiko: We've gotta leave this place behind to make our dream come true!
Yahiko: We leave this place to realize our dreams
p16
Yahiko: and the three of us will celebrate a job well done!
Yahiko: and the three of us will celebrate
technically, the translation should read 'bless,' not celebrate. I think Yahiko is trying to congratulate a job well done - for Yahiko, Nagato, Konan, Jiraiya - as well as the hideout.
p17
Yeah... guess so, huh?
well... [that's the way] it should be...
The three of them definitely have not forgotten about Jiraiya. The English trans makes it sound like an afterthought.
