So, I got thinking about how Madara gets his hands on the power he needs from the 1st Hokage, I'm not a believer in the theory of him getting arms from Zetsu, but I *do* believe that he is using Zetsu(s) to draw power from the shell of the first which he has linked to that plant, thus providing him with a "bridge" to the chakra of the Senju.. this is where I believe one of Zetsu's true strengths lays, and why Madara is using him.

I think Madara uses Zetsu's powers to augment his own by transfering the firsts chakra to him, although it has not been shown that he can transfer a "type" of chakra, I would not dismiss the idea.
